Enjoy an authentic sound with these Sony 1AM2 headphones. Their 40mm HD drivers provide clear, precise sound across all frequencies, and their separate left and right channels reduce crosstalk for balanced audio. These Sony 1AM2 headphones are lightweight, with pressure-relieving cushioned earpads for comfortable all-day wear.
A: The speakers in these and in the WH1000XM3’s are actually the same. The difference is that in the MDR-1AM2, your device’s amp powers the speakers directly, vs the amp inside the WH1000XM3. This ends up making the MDR-1AM2 set sound better, cleaner, and more balanced. However, know your market. These are designed for audiophiles, not general consumers. Most people willing to spend $300 will only do so on headphones with Bluetooth, active noise cancellation, and settings in an equalizer app and such. Thus, making the WH1000XM3’s more popular.
A: No. These are not your headphones. Don't make the same mistake I did. While these are great sounding headphones, they are really made for phones/tablets/laptops. Sony doesn't recommend using a 1/8" adapter for pro audio equipment/stereo receivers. If I did it again, I'd get the Sony MDR7506 old school, studio tested headphones. Good luck.
Q: Can this be used as a DJ headphone?
A: For dj headphones you can but would not be my first option.
A: No they do not. Included cables are 3.5mm 4 pole to 3.5mm 4 pole angled with an inline mic and 3.5mm 4 pole to 4.4 pentacon. If you get an adapter or cable that’s made properly there will be no decrease in fidelity. There is no inline volume adjustment in any of the cables so you will have to adjust through your instruments or plan on getting a DAC to put inline if you need volume adjustments not provided by your instruments.
Q: Can I use these with my desktop computer speakers?? Thanks.
A: Bella, yes if your speakers have a headphone jack. BTW, these headphones are the best I've owned, highly recommended.
Q: Can you turn off the noise-canceling function?
A: undefined
