A good game. A disappointing sequel.

You know what South Park is. Vulgar, loud, in your face, and always uncompromisingly intelligent even at its most base, the show never ceases to be as crazy and wild and fun as it can be. The original South Park RPG, the Stick of Truth, kept up this mentality, and it offered a wonderful little JRPG style that completely took me by surprise. Intelligent, fun, action packed, with tons of items to equip, SoT was an absolute Game of the Year candidate a few years ago. The Fractured But Whole is not. While the game may have way better graphics, music, and about 15 more hours than the 20-hour SoT, it lacks the fun and passion the first one had. The battle system is now of a slow, plodding strategy RPG sort, with short little Shining Force-like battles at every turn. While they're not entirely boring, the sheer lack of equippable armor and weapons-- literally none, all you equip are boring, personality-less accessories-- makes most battles in the game a plod, especially when you eventually are given access to *literally* every skill in the game later on. There's no real progression; you get to points in the story and you get more skills and abilities. That's it. Good graphics and music can't get you past a slow, uninteresting story. A boring battle system is not going to help even in the face of better designed, better written characters. It's a noble try, and a lot of fun, but I can't truly say it's a masterpiece like the previous game... ...which FBH COMES WITH FOR FREE. Game changer! If you've never played either game, get this. Right now. You're getting dozens of hours of great gaming. This game: 3 stars. SoT: 5 stars. Average score: 4 stars.

As someone who regularly watches South Park, this game is a treat for me. All of the characters from the older episodes (Woodland Critters) to the newer seasons (PC Principal and Member Berries) are present. Some parts of the game are downright hilarious, others somewhat disturbing, but I expected this going into the game. The game plays very similarly to Stick of Truth, with parts from the newer season of the show (SoDaSoPa and Shi Tpa Town) being present. Long story short, if you enjoy South Park and loved the previous game, this is for you. If you don't watch the show but are looking for some comedy relief with strategic RPG elements, this is a fine choice as well. Only knock I have against the game is that the campaign felt a little drawn out (20 hours) and the ending was weak, but all in all it's an excellent Ubisoft game,

If you played Stick of Truth or you love South Park, then you'll really enjoy this game. The battle system is completely different but it's a lot of fun. I still give it 5 stars because of how much fun I had playing it, but I will say that as far as the storyline goes and in-depth variety of inside jokes, this game is a little lacking compared to its predecessor. It felt less completed than Stick of Truth did, and it felt shorter, with less to do. It felt like they added more collectible stuff to try to fill in the gaps. Maybe that's just me, but it still made me laugh out loud at the stuff in the game, at all the inside jokes you only get if you're a true South Park fan, and I will definitely play it again.

I've been a fan of South Park and their style of humor for many years. So when their first game came out in 2013 the stick of truth I was all over it! It was one of my favorite games of that year and it still holds up years later ( which is why I'm happy I got the Steelbook edition because you get it free.) So when the sequel the fractured but whole got announced I knew I had to have it! It's the same raunchy style of humor South Park does so well with a new RPG combat system that is as addictive as it is fun! I cant recommend this game enough especially if you're a Gamers Club Unlocked member as the discount is just too great.

The graphics look to much like a cartoon.

Okay jokes aside this is an adult, cartoon-based game and is pretty fun. It is crude, insulting, and offensive, everything that South Park the show pushes to do in each episode. The game can seem tedious at times but it is a solid RPG (Role Playing Game) that offers classic turn based fighting similar to the older Final Fantasy style games. There is strong and offensive humor but also deep rooted social commentary. Say what you will about the type of humor presented with South Park, but it has shaped the country in the type of language and behavior that is present on television as well as video games.

But it includes stick of truth in the package, so that's redeeming. But while Stick of Truth was novel and focused on old, good gags, the super hero/franchise theme is just not nearly as interesting. Combined with problematic jokes, it's just not nearly as good as Stick of Truth. Note: Stick of Truth code expires Jan 2018 or so, so if you pick this up later you will be out of luck. Intentional expiration, too, since the Season Pass code expires in 2099. A bit sleezy, like the other choices.

After playing Southpark and the Stick of Truth I wasn't sure how they would top it. Well they didn't top it....they blew it out of the water!!!! This game follows the kids right after Stick of Truth and starts a whole new story. If you like the shows humor, you'll LOVE this game. They change things up by switching from Lord of the Rings style to Marvel inspired Style. So don't forget to bring your towel as you cry and laugh playing this game. I give this game 10 Butters out of 10!

If you played the previous installment of the South Park RPG series then you'll know exactly what to expect from this new entry. Filled with all of the humor and references from the show, the Fractured But Whole is incredibly well done, with improved combat and character creation mechanics. I wish there were dialogue options for you to interact with the rest of the cast, but overall you're playing in the world created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and that's a good thing.
