Fantastic Collectable For Star Wars Fan!
|Posted .When this Blu-ray steelbook was on sale for 9.99 on May 4th, you couldn't pass it up even if you own the original trilogy on Blu-ray already. the collectable steelbook is worth the price of admission for 9.99. However, be warned. The extras are scarce on these and no Digital Copies at all. This set is very bare bones. Only get this edition if you want the collectable packaging or if you must own everything Star Wars.

Star Wars never looked so good
|Posted .This whole steel book collection is amazing and so unique. It's well worth getting separate movies than the box set.

Awesome
Posted .I wasn't planning on buying a whole new set, but since I found out about this steel case I was pretty pumped. Got out to the car and started to check them out. Got to this one and the dvd was out of the holder and the edges of the steel case is dented. Went back inside the store and they said I could have done it. I was in the parking lot, and all the other ones were just fine! Oh well I guess. Won't be going back to that store again.

Best version of Starwars in 40+ years.
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Best way to watch Starwars! Picture is better than the Disney+ version, and the sound stage fantastic! Definitely worth it. I know people keep saying physical media is dead, but this movie proves otherwise. The bitrate of this movie is twice that of the digital copy and three times the Disney+ stream. Watching on anything other than disc is like drinking a thick milkshake through a straw.

Good 4k video quality
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. The HDR colors darken the image a bit, adding depth and some interesting changes, albeit not overly drastic, to the proceedings. The iconic opening crawl sports a deeper tone, definitely not what fans are used to seeing through the years from VHS to Blu-ray, from Laserdisc to DVD. It's almost a very light orange rather than the more traditional solid, bright yellow. Another one of the more immediately obvious color transformations comes on the circular board on Yavin 4 where the Rebels watch the Death Star's progress as it approaches firing range. The red color on the board finds significantly deeper push. C-3PO's golden exterior is much less gaudy here, presenting with a deeper, more subdued, but more polished, appearance. Stormtrooper whites and the blockade runner interiors find some of the most prominent improvements for color stabilization and white pop. Generally, colors enjoy improved saturation and contrast, be that skin, laser blasts, lightsabers, Tatooine terrain, or the slick gray and black surfaces around the Death Star's interior. Vader black is perfect and space exteriors and low light interiors enjoy boosted depth as well. By-and-large, HDR improves where necessary without fundamentally altering the movie, though a few of the above-referenced elements do stand out a bit.

Is it better than Blu Ray?
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I have had the complete story for years now. It is a nice set so, I was skeptical in re-buying these once again, especially when these 4k players upscale nicely. But, since they had it for two dollars off and the reviews were pretty stellar on the transfer, it was just enough to push me over the edge. The verdict? (FYI, my equipment is a Sony A8 (OLED) and a Sony 4K player with a Polk Audio Magnifi Max soundbar and subwoofer) The picture in OLED is absolutely amazing. Dings and patina on R2D2 and C3PO like you've never seen. The disc really comes alive in the DeathStar scenes with all the black and white (perfect black on my A8) and the color tone feels so much more real. Is it enough to make me get all of the whole series in 4K? Maybe not. But, if will probably have me headed back out to pick up my favorites between 1 and 6. For fans of all of it, this is an absolute must buy. I truly felt like I was 11 years old in the theatres again. Hard to describe the feels this disc gives.

Star Wars 4k
|Posted .Of course SW is great, but how is the 4k video and audio quality? I was blown away by both. This is a demo movie to show the capabilities of a 4k TV. Picture was super clear and audio was outstanding. I noticed things I had never noticed before. For example, how worn Vaders mask is at the beginning and the difference colors of the rebel pilots helmets when they begin the DS attack run. I would definitely recommend this one for SW fans and also to see what 4k is all about.

Q: QuestionWill this include the original theatrical version? Lucas's version with added footage is not the great memory I have of the Star Wars trilogy. I sure hope they give us at least both versions and not just his official version.
Asked by Movielover.
- A:Answer Sorry movielover, but the versions you are describing are NOT in this set and probably will never be offered again. The only way to get the 1977, 1980, 1983 "versions" are the following: The 2004 DVD sets that were made before "Revenge of the Sith" came out in 2005. (Official Release) *The quality on those were atrocious for DVD format ability at the time. The 1995 THX VHS sets (official release) The 1995 THX Laserdisc individual movies (official release) The very first VHS versions that ever came out in the 1980s (official release) *Quality on those are poor for today's TVs. The "Despecialized" manufactured on demand Blu-rays (unofficial release) *You can find out how to get those online as I don't have that info. here. Now that Kathleen Kennedy is no longer a part of the SW movie making process, I have hope that one day in the future we may get an official 4K release of the original trilogy.

Q: QuestionDoes this, as well as the other movies, include the bonus/extra content like the behind the scenes? And is it the same as the ones you get in $250 complete saga box set?
Asked by Gio.
- A:Answer Yes, it is the same content, Gio. The individual sets have slipcovers and contain the 3 discs/digital copy. Same amount of discs for each movie in the box set. The digital copies are also included in the box set.
