What did you expect Teddy Ruxpin?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After being beat down by Hollywood's recent (say, the last 15 years) interpretation of comedy, I was skeptical of this movie. But, since it seemed different from your basic mindless, re-hash comedy(Epic Movie), or endless do-over (W. Farrell, J. Carey), thought I'd give it a chance. After watching Ted, I was actually happy to have taken the time to see it, and that doesn't happen often in this age of re-makes and sequels. Being 49 years old, it's tough to come across a new, funny comedy. This is definitely one. Admittedly, there are one, or two, scenes that even made me cringe. This is NOT a movie for kids, or folks whose laces are tied a bit tight(as noted by a few bad reviews,... 'What did you expect, Teddy Ruxpin?'). Most people will find this quite funny. 'Most'.

Very Funny Rated R Comedy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and the voice of Seth MacFarlane (of Family Guy fame) as Ted. Its the story of Mark Wahlbergs character as a child wishing for a friend and getting a real live teddy bear. They grow up and hilarity ensues. I believe this is the highest grossing rated R movie of all time so that should be all you need to know. This version comes with a theatrical and unrated version of the films and also contains an HD Digital Copy that can be redeemed on CinemaNow, Vudu, Flixster and others. The majority of the jokes would be considered "low brow" humor but that is part of its charm in my opinion. Seth MacFarlane goes to great lengths to be rude and crude and it works.

I thought it was funny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Basically, if you liked Family Guy before it became unwatchable, this movie should be pleasing to you. Many of the jokes in the movie are surprising and unusual, and the humor depends a lot on the characters and their relationships. Fortunately, Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis deliver plenty of heart and charm to the story, and their performances are the reason so much of the humor works. The unrated edition on the disc doesn't add a huge amount of value, but it brings a few decent new laughs and is probably the best version of the movie to watch.

Hilarious on the 2nd, 3rd or 10th time!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A child's wish gives life to a teddy bear that grows up to be a foul mouthed, marijuana smoking companion to that same child, who now is simply a man child (Mark Wahlberg). He also happens to be voiced by Seth McFarlane, the voice of Peter Griffin on Family Guy (watch for the inside joke about that ). Along for the ride, and plenty of awkward relationship situations, is Mila Kunis as the hapless girlfriend/almost fiancé...oh, and there's Flash Gordon too! Hilarity ensues, and lots of it!

Hysterical!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This flick is hysterical...and not one of those where all of the funny moments are in the trailer. It is NOT a deep plot, suspenseful, or thought provoking movie...what it is is a very funny Comedy, and one with a taking teddy bear at that, so go in with academy type expectations in check! I will warn that it is most definitely adult humour so I wouldn't recommend it for family movie night if you have young ones, but for the mature crowd it it's a hysterical immature comedy!

Raunchy Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For better or for worse, this is a funny comedy. Maybe a tad long (I'd rather watch the Theatrical than the Extended Cut), but very clever and original. Definitely NOT for kids, but for a fun "more mature" night, this is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud in more than one occasion. And, if you're a little older and you remember "Flash Gordon" from the '80s... Even better. You'll see why while watching the movie. The DVD is nice, clear, great sound... A must-have.

What Can I Say about a Foul-Mouthed Teddy Bear?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."Ted" was an amusing film from the gutter mouth behind "Family Guy," "American Dad," and "The Cleveland Show," writer/actor Seth McFarlane. In "Ted", we get an actually heart-warming tale of a man and his childhood teddy bear, whom he wished could talk. His wish was granted, and little John Bennett grew up with his best friend, Ted, a teddy bear with a heart of gold and a mouth like a sailor. Now an adult, Bennett and Ted smoke pot, drink beers, and watch "Flash Gordon" together. But Bennett's girlfriend Lori (Mila Kunis, "That '70s Show", "Forgetting Sarah Marshall") thinks it's time that Ted go, so that she can remake John into a proper adult. The cast is great, with Patrick Stewart ("Star Trek: The Next Generation") narrating and character actors Giovanni Ribisi ("Avatar," "My Name Is Earl") and Joel McHale ("Community", E!'s "The Soup") rounding out the cast. Don't expect "Masterpiece Theatre" here, kids, or even a cuddly Disney film, because that this ain't. But it's not a bad two hours spent, either.

Unexpectedly Funny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest, I did not go out of my way to see this title, having expectations of it being full of juvenile humor which is not usually my sort of movie. Caught it on one of the premium movie channels and have not laughed as hard at a movie in years. Yes, there is juvenile humor and a bit worse but for a change there was actually a decent story. Still funny after watching it several times.
