    Synopsis

    The Bourne Supremacy
The second chapter in the "Bourne Trilogy," based on Robert Ludlum's best-selling espionage novels, reaches the screen in this sequel to the 2002 thriller The Bourne Identity. Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) has abandoned his life as a CIA assassin and has been traveling beneath the agency's radar, eventually reconnecting with Marie Kreutz (Franka Potente), the woman he loves. But Bourne is haunted by vivid dreams and troubling memories of his days as a killer, and he's not certain how much really happened and how much is a product of his imagination. When Bourne is led out of hiding by circumstances beyond his control, he must reconcile his past and present as he struggles to keep Marie out of harm's way and foil an international incident with dangerous consequences. The Bourne Supremacy also features Joan Allen as one of Bourne's superiors, while Julia Stiles and Brian Cox reprise their roles as intelligence agents from the first film. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Being a big fan of the Bourne series, this was a must-buy for my new 4K collection. The movie itself is amazing and arguably the best in the series. I think anyone reading this obviously has seen the movie, but is wondering if the 4K HDR upgrade is worth it: I would say that the video is not that vast of an upgrade due to the fact that the movie has a very greyed and muted color palate to begin with. Yes, there are some visual improvements with landscape shots and color richness in the explosions. The biggest benefit to the upgrade is the audio. With action films such as this, the hugely improved audio quality makes gunshots, explosions, and the squeal of tires in car chases much richer to the point where you feel completely immersed in the film like you're there in the middle of it. I would say if you're just a casual movie watcher and want a 4K movie that will really show the visual upgrade, then this might be one you want to skip, but if you're a true fan of the Bourne series and want to enhance your experience with it, this is worth the $19.99 price to pick it up.

      BD50 is great; BD66 just OK for a 4K

The regular Blu-ray AKA BD50 isn't quite reference quality for the format but it's near the top of the next level down. I'd call it excellent but not reference. The 4K video presentation is a worthy upgrade for any fan and noticeably better due to the abilities of the format. Believe it's an upscale from a 2K scan. Recommended immediate pick up for any fan. If you're not a fan I'd recommend picking up some of the more reference quality 4K discs first. The audio is where you'll see the biggest upgrade on this disc. I'd give the audio for both the BD50 and thr BD66 a 4.5 each for their respective formats so the audio is a big step up between the BD50 and the 4K IMO. Movie 4.5 BD50 video: 4.5 BD50 audio: 4.5 BD66 video: 3.5 BD66 audio: 4.5

I have the Bourne Supremacy movies on DVD and decided to upgrade them to Blu-ray over black Friday since they had them for under $4. Not only did I get to upgrade this great series to Blu-Ray I still have the DVD as these included the Blu-Ray + DVD (so I can still take the DVD's with the laptop if I decide to). The original DVD's were traded locally so my out of pocket was very minimal for a great series now in 1080 HD picture & sound!

This is a movie that I think is even better than The Bourne Identity. This movie has some really cool camera work that makes you feel like you're right alongside Jason Bourne. The on-board cameras during the car chase was very cool and the camera during the action scenes puts you right in the middle of the action. This is an excellent movie if you like action with a great plot.

The Bourne Identity was on my Grandfather's nightstand when he died. He had told my Grandmother that it was his favorite book and so she gave it to me. His wife just died at age 99. So these movies are a way of reminding me of my WWII Navy Vet and Irish McGill Grandfather and my Grandmother. Even though this series is not for children.

In most trilogies there seems to be one that just isn't as good as the others. This isn't true of the Bourne trilogy. The first of the trilogy was a great movie, but director Paul Greengrass takes the second movie in a different direction. The action sequences make you feel like you're in the middle of it. The movie is intense from beginning to end and never disappoints.

The Bourne Supremacy is an awesome sequel to The Bourne Identity. This movie has even more extreme action sequences and a longer and more action packed car chase. The fight scenes are pretty cool too with Matt Damon using some amazing of the best martial arts I've ever seen. The DVD has tons of special features too. This is a DVD worth buying.
