John Guillermin's World War II film The Bridge at Remagen comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer and a collectible booklet. This is a solid release from MGM/UA that should be of interest especially to genre enthusiasts.

A true story based from the second world war, but this movie is far from any classic WW2 movie I have ever seen. The scenes from the beginning of the movie with the Sherman Convoy was unbelievably realistic. The battle was looked upon from both the American's view and the German's view. It seemed like 90% of the film was one big firefight both from small arms exchange and artilery. Both at the beginning credits and thruout the movie the music went well with the time and engagements. Not any extreme violence, in my opinion, but there was some skin shown in one scene. Other than that I'd strongly recomend this film to anyone.
