The Crown: Season One [Blu-ray]

I love this series and had to have my own set! I recommend this series

Season One, Episode One starts out oddly. There is no background information that sets the time and place of the episode. That’s okay if you’re familiar with the royal family and their history. But, if you’re not familiar with the Windsor family history, you might find yourself scrambling to “Catch Up.” Second, the fact that the royal family is represented as essentially wealthy, one must wonder where their funds are coming from. Are the British citizens paying them via taxes? Are they earning royalties from investments? Do they have other resources that provide an income steam? Why is this important? Because there is a long history of the British Monarchy abusing their citizenry by taxing them, at times, without mercy to support their activities while those citizens suffered. Beyond that, though, the storyline becomes increasingly interesting as you move into episode three. It will be interesting to see where the writers decide to take all of this given what has been happening of late within the royal family.

This is Season 1 of The Crown, which we have not previously seen and I was delighted when I was able to purchase it from BestBuy at a good price so my wife and I can watch it anytime we want.

Great show. Fantastic cast and storytelling. I find myself fact checking throughout the episodes, and I’m learning things I didn’t know about history...you won’t be disappointed...until you have to wait for next season!!!

Started watching The Crown later than the first Season. So had to catch up. Nice owning the 3 seasons!

Bought this as a gift for my wife as part of her birthday gifts. She loves "The Crown" and now she can watch anytime she wants, especially if she wants to go back and see certain parts of the history of the Royal Family.
