    The Green Hornet
The hard-partying son of L.A.'s most powerful media magnate realizes his true calling as a crime-fighting vigilante after his father perishes under suspicious circumstances in this big-screen adaptation of the popular radio serial, comic book, film, and television series originated by Lone Ranger creators Fran Striker and George W. Trendle. James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) single-handedly built a media empire, but unfortunately his industrious genes weren't passed down to his son, Britt (Seth Rogen). Irresponsible, slovenly, and frequently inebriated, Britt is shaken out of his drunken stupor upon receiving word that his father has died. Shortly after Britt learns that he has inherited the family business, he forges an unlikely alliance with Kato (Jay Chou), one of his father's star employees, and together the pair hatch a plan to pose as villains in order to get close to the city's most high-powered criminals. Outfitting their indestructible custom-made car, The Black Beauty, with the absolute latest in technology and high-tech weaponry -- and arming themselves to the teeth with an array of gadgets that would make Batman blush -- the masked duo hit the streets as The Green Hornet and Kato. As the public's fascination with the mysterious crime fighters hits an all-time high, Britt's resourceful secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), helps them to gather intelligence on notorious underworld kingpin Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz), a criminal who holds the entire city in the palm of his hand, and represents everything that Britt's father fought against. Little do the Green Hornet and Kato realize that Chudnofsky is already on to them, and that he's not about to go down without a fight. Rogen and frequent writing partner Evan Goldberg provide the screenplay, with visionary Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) handling directing duties. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This movie is a jump off of the original Green Hornet comic book and television series. Seth Rogen is slightly awkward in the leading role as the Green Hornet but as the movie progresses his character becomes more likable through his relationship with Kato (Jay Chou). Kato and his cool gadgets were the star of the movie. I enjoyed the appearance of Cameron Diaz but found myself wanting to see her character get more into the action, so I guess that means if they make a sequel with the trio I will watch it. I found that I liked the movie better the second time I watched it, probably because I was not expecting the flavor of the original tv series this time. Blu-ray disc, packaging, picture and sound quality good. Presented in 2.40:1 aspect ratio. Includes special features: commentary, gag reel and writing the green hornet featurette.

Ok this is a good movie some really good action sequences kato is great the car is great etc i definately enjoyed it... but i have 2 problems with this movie i don't like the way seth rogens charecter was written as an obnoxious inept jerk who throws tantrums and can't fight at all...this is just like his observe and report charecter all over again and that was a horrible movie. also the best buy ad has this movie listed as a blu-ray+DVD for $19.99 even on the shelf tag it says that so i bought it went home and it's just the dvd thats false advertising. but the movie is good and i'm glad i got it.

Best 3D flick in my far

The reason I jumped on buying this, aside from the price was I remember seeing the trailer in 3D and it was pretty good just for being a trailer. I never watched it in the theater so, when I took this home it was a first time watch. I was impressed with the first sight of 3D during the nightclub explosion, but was thrilled at the content during the first fight scene and there on! The plot is alright and there is some funny parts, but honestly I bought it in hopes of having a movie with better 3D content than the other 3D-DVDs I own. So I wasnt disappointed with this purchase at all.

I was lucky enough to get 2 free movie screening passes to see this a month before it was released in theaters and the main reason i first wanted to see this was for Jay Chou because i thought he was a good actor in Initial D. This was actually good, it had a lot of action in it mixed with comedy. Definitely something worth checking out. Never seen the old Green Hornet so i dont know how this lives up to it but I believe they did a good job. I might be adding this to my blu ray collection!

Bold adaptation that doesn't quite fly!

Watch the extra video interviews after seeing this film. You will learn how the star wanted to do the opposite of a super-hero movie. The Green Hornet is a slacker who by accident falls into the mask. Kato is spectacular and played as the only competent member of the duo. Problem is, it just doesn't quite work as a comedy and as such doesn't quite work as an action flick either. I might be a bit positive since I am a fan of the character and admire the chance they took. But mediocre is mediocre. Make sure you get it at a discount!

      The Green Hornet

I really wanted to like this movie! I really did! But it was AWFUL! The plot, the acting...everything was just cheesy! I will put this up there with DareDevil as one of the worst superhero movies to date. Trust me when I say, I am a HUGE fan of action movies! I dont mind if they are a little cheesy (Ex. XXX with Vin Diesel) but this one was just BAD! I will have to admit, I like the car (The Black Beauty), but this movie will definitely NOT be in my Blu-Ray Library! Avoid the Disappointment!!! Avoid this movie! ITS BAD!!!!!!!!!

Wait for the price to drop - should not take long.

I am glad I did not spend the money at the box office. The movie has little plot, the acting is as should be expected based on the line up. The only saving grace is the special effects, and they were minimal. Nice try though. Wait for the BD to go in the $5 bin. Not worth much more. I bought it with reward zone bucks on the Friday after Thanksgiving for real cheap, and am glad I did.

To whoever has made the decision to stop making 3D's needs to see them with this 4k player on my LG 4k TV. It almost makes it silly to see them at the theater. Sound is amazing , picture is amazing, and the 3D is so great that my husband who hates 3D loved it.
