In order to save his homeland from certain doom, a kung fu master (Jackie Chan) must escape from the maniacal James Hook (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in order to send his daughter a secret talisman that will allow her to control a massive and mythical dragon. This globe-trotting tale - ranging from the impenetrable Tower of London to the fabled Silk Road and China's Great Wall also stars Rutger Hauer.
Though parts were "rough" to the story the main parts were fun and the message of the story got through. I like Jackie Chan much more appreciatively over the years. Arnold was a caricature but somewhat pivotal. I liked the oriental culture throughout the film.
Jackie and Arnold's characters are not the main focus of the movie, but are still very important to the story. A very well made movie with great effects, great choreography, and a fun storyline. All in all a very enjoyable watch for those who like fantasy action and adventure movies. Laced with tinges of steampunk, Russian history, and Chinese martial arts and lore it comes across as a refreshing film for those who just want an enjoyable watch. An initial warning there are a dizzying array of companies involved whose short video logos all appear at the beginning, but considering the gem that came from this collaboration I would willingly sit through them time and again.
Decent adventure flick. Arnold and Jackie make cameos more or less. Few good fight scenes Arnold and Jackie throw down id watch a clip on you tube. Still a good B movie with some older A list actors I bought it you should to not for the fights but a decent action adventure flick!
