  he show always had its adherents, but I wasn’t one during much of its first season. I recognized the talents of its top-flight cast, but it seemed to have real trouble consistently hitting its chosen target — a terribly difficult target, it must be said

  Surely this is an amazing season. I can't think of any other show that had a better second season. It's fantastic!
