This film was a very pleasant surprise. I went into this knowing nothing about the movie other than Elizabeth Moss of Mad Men fame. I knew she had acting chops and decided to give this film a try. This was shot on a minuscule budget, and in this case, I think the constraints produced a great film because they had to be extra creative to make this. The film starts off as typical couples' therapy sessions montage. It is quickly ascertained that the husband had been unfaithful during their relationship. Their therapist decides to send them on a retreat when no progress is being made. Again, it seems to be the normal fare but then things start to get wierd. This is not a comedy, although there are definitely comedic moments, but it kind of reminds me of a supernatural, unexplained Groundhog Day type of element that plays out here. I don't want to go into to much detail because I feel it would spoil things.

This movie blew me away. So refreshing, and stayed with me for days. The questions it raises are quite profound, and the way in which the film presents them is both terrifying and touching. The film also does not shy away from humor when it is naturally there, and the whole film has a way of making you buy into its main twist of reality without even second guessing it. Acting is solid all around and the direction/cinematography/editing and music all add up to make this my favorite film of the year. Bluray technical aspects are wonderful as well.

A fantastic movie with a plot you don't see coming. It's like a romantic comedy and a twilight zone episode had a baby. If you're a fan of Mark Duplass I would recommend watching this movie.
