A recently released ex-convict learns that there are many different forms of imprisonment in this fact-based tale from Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof. Having spent half of his life behind bars, disheartened inmate Reza is overjoyed when the sympathetic warden arranges a marriage between him and female inmate Fatemeh. The couple is allowed to spend one night a week together, and Fatemeh soon gives birth to a child. Eventually, the newlyweds are released to pursue their fate in the outside world.
