They did a outstanding job on this. The details and colors pop off the screen, making this the best way to watch this all time classic.

The perfect movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was hard to find the 75th anniversary edition on bluray of The Wizard of Oz. Fortunately, one of my Best Buy's near me had it. I hate ordering. I'd rather drive across town to pick it up immediately. Thanks for having it in stock!

No digital copy! Not what is pictured!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Wizard of Oz. I ordered this because it was a great deal with the digital copy. Unfortunately, the TWO times this movie was sent to me, it was not as shown in the image (not the 75th anniversary edition and no digital copy). I hope that Best Buy changes the description and pictureof this product to be accurate.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

You become a child again, tap your toes to the famous tunes, and basically grin ear to ear for its entire running time. It's multi-generational entertainment that can be handed down to children and grandchildren. Those of us of a certain age remember watching every year on TV. Be it black and white or early color sets. It's a joyous celebration of home, hearth, family and friends. But it also has important life themes with some darkness and drama thrown in. It has not only great music and dance but tremendous set design, costuming and special effects for its day that still holds up quite well. When Dorthy opens the door of her tornado tossed home to glimpse her first sight of OZ in stunning Technicolor our eyes pop and we let out a long "wow"! This is made an even more stunning moment watching the insanely good 4K Dolby Vision transfer. You think you know ruby slippers? The glinting specular highlights from the HDR dazzle us. Dorthy's rosy cheeks, dark red hair and freckles are plain to see. Makeup and costuming details of the entire cast are a wealth of visual goodies. The hand painted backdrops of the sets are rich and colorful. The 5.1 surround track presents music, dialog and sound effects so well that you are just immersed in the experience. Really, this is the best this classic has looked and sounded. Run, don't walk to add this disc to your collection!

Best it's ever looked, but you might see too much
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best that this movie has ever looked. It's stunning when you consider how old the movie is. It's like being on set while they were filming, which is both good and potentially bad: you see colors and details that you will not see on any other format, but for the first time I was really able to see the material of the sets (wood and plastic bushes, trees, etc.) as well as things like the seems on costumes, the white T-shirt that the tin mans wears under his costume, the Munchkins' bald-caps, etc. As an adult who has seen this movie so many times, I really didn't mind and I appreciated seeing the details that have been somewhat obscured by the previous and lesser formats. And I don't think kids will mind because they won't notice such things... at least mine didn't.

The Wizard of OZ keeps getting better.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The original Black & White The Wizard of OZ movie was a silent movie made in 1925 with Oliver Hardy (of Laurel & Hardy Films) playing the Tin Woodsman. The 4K Ultra HD movie was make in 2023. That's a 98 year difference in the same story from a B&W silent movie to a superb brilliant sharp color and Dolby Digital Surround Sound Audio to hear and watch in the comfort of your own living room on a 70", 75", or 86" 4K television bought from Best Buy. The 4K The Wizard of OZ is simply outstanding in sound and picture quality. Sit back and enjoy the movie as it was first meant to be seen on large screens in movie theaters.
