A Disney movie, and a live action one at that, which are few and far between that may be good enough to keep the older crowd immersed as deeply into the plot as their kids. Most parents brave through these movies and for a moment reach that bliss that they lost with adulthood, but with Tomorrowland, Disney really brings their theme park alive on screen. The actors although one would think would be lost to the appearance and skills of Clooney actually rose to the occassion and offered a complete experience that without them, Clooney may have seemed out of place. Although the length may seem uncharacteristic of Disney movies, it was not filled with essentially, "filler", and was crucial to delivering the finality of the plot. Although, the end of the movie to where the plot climaxes to its purpose seemed a bit rushed and disconnected, it didn't take too much away from the overall experience that would otherwise ruin the expectations of the viewer. Nevertheless, the end still may cause the viewer to have to reflect on where the plot connected the end to the buildup starting near the beginning of the movie but after the introduction of the key characters of the movie. Definitely a recommendation not only for kids, but for the whole family who could enjoy watching Tomorrowland come alive on the Silver Screen.

I've never seen a movie that's been so unfairly maligned by negative reviews, especially considering that this movie was an absolute joy from beginning to end. After watching it, and reading truly horrible, reviews I'm starting to think that somebody hired a few live bodies to slate this movie for their own specific reasons. The script, actors and directors captured the feeling of endless possibilities perfectly. The FX were fantastic, there were no lulls in the plot, George Clooney did his thing perfectly, the child actors were incredible, and there were just enough twists and turns to maintain the pace. Please, please watch this movie and make your own mind up - the negative reviews almost put me off, but I'm so glad I actually took the chance. Actually there's one proviso here - and is probably something consistent with most of the negative reviews: If you lack imagination, or the yearning for a better world, then you'll hate this movie. Or you want to raise kids who aspire to be nothing more than reality TV actors. Or if you're a reality TV actor. Or your kids can't read or write because you don't think it's important. Or if you think science is dumb. Or if you can't embrace hope. t.

This movie is a great "What if" movie. What if the NASA Engineers, the people from MENSA and a bunch of Walt Disney's imagination folks got together. This movie reflects that premise "What If". The disc's worked fine unfortunately I could not get the digital download to work. we kept getting a failure to connect with the main frame error message. But it only happened with trying to connect with Disney. Universal and Fox down loads went well. Sounds like Disneys might be having a problem on their end. This movie will take you back to when you were a kid. Back to a time when YOU were sure that if you closed your eyes, put out your arms and ran as fast as you could across the meadows; YOU would start to fly. No one had told you different so your imagination was still floating free. The special effects are done very well, and given just a little imagination on the part of the viewer, you may once again believe in that magic. the magic of your childhood dreams where you swam in the deepet oceans or traveled to another world. Encourage imagination, explore your dreams. enjoy Tomorrowland.

I did not really know about or have a chance to see this movie in theaters due to the limited marketing by Disney. Once out on Blu-ray I bought it because George Clooney normally does not attach his name to typical Hollywood fodder. This movie is no exception. The story, for the most part, is original in its approach and perspective. It moves along quickly with humor and some surprise action. Characters are fleshed out enough without being heavy-handed in the story to make it more of a drama. Visuals are very good and precise for those with large screens. The sound quality is amazing and immersive, with good dynamics and drive to keep pace with several of the action scenes. Someone with a better quality sound system for their HT will enjoy the sound presentation. The very end gets a tiny bit predictable, and by the end I mean the last five minutes or so, but right up till then you do feel vested in characters and the story. This is a good family film and virtually safe for any age.

Ooooo.....another movie about a Theme Park Ride! Hope they don't try to milk 5 sequels out of this one. Disney spent tons of money advertising and marketing a movie based on a theme park ride....picked a title that would identify the movie and posters feature the stars and the movie title and other identifying features.......unlike what they did to John Carter! Thankfully the Burroughs Estate has bought that license back and will be producing a franchise of films ACTUALLY based on the source material! Only thing that might be more exciting than that would be if they licensed it to Marvel Studios to make movie versions of the long running comic series John Carter, Warlord of Mars! That's was a little off topic.....'cause there's really nothing to say about Tomorrowland. It's another movie based on a theme park ride.

Sometimes I have expectations when seeing previews, and while watching Tomorrowland I was expecting a different flow. Also, it being a Disney Magic Kingdom theme park land, I was wondering how they would tie that angle in. On the fist viewing, I didn't see much direct tie in, although there could be some hidden content. The video quality was excellent as was the sound. Good use of the surround channels. The special features are pretty good. The side videos of the commercial and "lost TV" footage were interesting (actually watched them before the movie). The deleted scenes show show the movie could have gone with some very different story paths. Based on the special features alone, I would recommend having a copy of the blu-ray edition.

It was a good (although not great) movie. Of course George was fantastic in his role, and the actors to play the children also acted well. However, I found the plot to be a bit stale. On a basic level, stripped of acute details and story-specific instances, it came down to good guy - bad guy quarrels. One wants the world to end (or I this case, idly stand by as it ends) while the other wants to save it. Thousands of movies have been made with the same skeleton and in some instances, the movie has been made within the same genre and a story parallel to that of this one. All in all, the movie felt a bit recycled, but still was worth the watch and was very entertaining.

Tomorrowland is a sci-fi adventure film that centers on two characters (Casey Newton and Frank Walker) who work together to reach the mythical place only known as Tomorrowland, where the best and brightest thinkers, dreamers and creators could come together to change the world for the better, a secret place free of politics and restrictions. Co-written and directed by Brad Bird, who brought us some Disney's most imaginatives movies in the past ten years and even Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tomorrowland is truly a one-of-a-kind adventure.
