A: Just call Best Buy (or where ever you bought your stuff) and ask for the Geek Squad. I had similar issue and they came right out and fixed it.
Q: Do l have to pay for this service
A: I purchased a receiver, and they came out for free. I called before my return date. I do not know how long it was a free service after my purchase.
A: It just sounds like input selection to me. Such as, for me, I have a computer and a DVR hooked up to my receiver, satellite/cable TV is my DVR and game equals my computer input.
