A: They have good bass, on par with Sonos play 5, perhaps a little more extension but slightly less volume. It doesn't compair to a 12" sub, but sounds very good with most music types. Probably won't rattle dishes in the cabinet or handle the type of rap bass that you hear shaking license plates, but can beat many soundbar subs. For the size, I was pleased.
A: I haven't heard the Sonos but I will say that this is loud if you want it to be. controlling the volume through my phone it will only go to level 20, but you can continue to increase the volume on the unit to 30 or more. We found that out while using it for a party and it was nearly as loud as one of my DJ speakers I use for my business which is a JBL Eon 15". Impressive and still fairly clear. A little distortion when you really crank it up depending on the song.
