Excellent performance for the price, especially when you can catch it on sale. I got this for $120 down from $140. Not the fastest out there, but for the majority of people it should be just fine. I added it to the open M.2. slot in my legion slim 5 gen 8 14.5" gaming laptop to store/run more games on, and it works great, better than the 1TB M.2. the laptop came with that runs the OS. This model (SN5000) is faster read/write AND cheaper than the SN580 at MSRP. SN5000 (msrp $140): read: 5150MB/s write: 4850MB/s SN580 (msrp $150): read: 4150MB/s write: 4150MB/s I don't know why anyone would get the SN580 over this unless it was way cheaper on sale.

I'm old school lol with the normal sata HDDs. I decided to try an SSD for the speed aspect. Wow is it a big difference with the read/writes. A whole lot faster. I have a dual boot Linux/Win setup currently. Going to migrate when I have time. This SSD is much faster. I get it that it should be faster, but this is my first and definitely worth it.

It was easy to install and the instructions were easy to follow. This was my first time installing a harddrive.
