The ssd is very fast as expected. Light weight product.

The My Passport SSD is a very great device to store files (photos for me) quickly and efficiently. And the colors match my MacBook. The only issue I have with the device is it runs hotter than my 2016 MacBook Pro--and that's saying something! But overall it works very well. The read/write speeds are not what are advertised though. I'm running a very efficient set-up and the highest results I got with the Black Magic speed test were around 250mbps write and 400mbps read. Don't expect RAID speeds or anything, and you'll be good :).

This SSD is sweet: small, fast, no-hassle back up device. I like the fact it reminds me to plug-in to my laptop and everything happens without me having to click on anything. All done automatically in the background. Plus all of my files are portable to another PC. This SSD fits into my shirt pocket. Light weight. No bulkiness. Sweet!

I use this as an external storage for my PS4 (The Witcher 3 needs SSD storage or is almost unplayable). It ran very hot during the intial transfer of games from the PS4 (about 240 gigs) but once I unplugged it after it finished and then plugged back in after it cooled off, I was able to play games off of it without issue and without it getting very hot. It definitely reduced my load times thankfully.
