    Good performance, so/so visual design

My main use for this television is as a computer monitor and at small intervals, an ACTUAL television set. I found this set to be comparable or even cheaper in price when compared to an Insignia-brand model of the same size and features. I've owned my set for a year and it's performed well every day. The picture quality is great, the speakers are clear (especially for built-in speakers), and I haven't experienced any issue with any of the ports (I connect to my PC using HDMI). I find the colors are correct and bright to my eye, and the images are tack-sharp. Here are some cons. I noticed the television images are cropped further than usual and changing the aspect ratio doesn't help (images included). Operating the controls via rocker buttons (why?!) on the body is confusing, and after year, still gets me. The menu design is horrible, using kiddie-designed clip art. And the placement of the RF connector makes it awkward to say the least. Overall, this television is a solid choice, and although there are some visual cons (especially the cropped television image), it is overall a good TV that competes with Best Buy's "house" brand.

What an awesome tv for the guest room

We needed a brand new tv that isn’t small or too big or fancy and to get rid of the old a$$ Sharp TV that kept turning off all the time. Most of the TVs today are expensive. Just a month ago we got this awesome tv on clearance for $99.99 for a 32 incher. Right now currently its back up to $149.99 but definitely wait when it goes down to $99.99 it’s good to save an extra $50. I read the reviews and waited until the price went down to $99 I picked it up at Best Buy and now we still have it. Easy setup and didn’t need to hook it to a wall it wasn’t necessary for us, we screwed on the stands and walla!! The tv works awesome. Didn’t need a smart tv because we already own one. We just needed one for the guest bedroom and it is a big tv for $99. You can’t go wrong with that. 720p is great and can’t even tell that it’s 720 p. It also has 3 HDMI ports which even the more expensive 32 inch TVs only have 1 or 2. This sucker has 3! The remote control is nice and does come with 2 AAA batteries but it is a little small and the cable box remote is the one we usually use anyway. The speakers are actually loud and not tinny at all like some reviews and I cranked the bass using the menus and the bass is pretty good but of course it’s not going to knock your scocks off. There’s also a feature I like which you can turn off the screen but hear the audio which is very neat because sometimes I get headaches and don’t want to bother with looking at the tellie glaring off the walls. Got to say an awesome TV for the price of a $100 bill. I might get another Westinghouse tv or try some of their other items they offer. I might even try their microwave for making popcorn. But definitely get this tv for a guest bedroom or for the kids or even for the living room. Great size, great price. :)

I bought this to replace my 10 yr old standard 20 in TV before it could break on me. The size is decent since I don't have a large living room. The picture is clear and I like the different picture options you get by just hitting one button. The downsides are that the antenna is not as strong as the one on my old TV. I hooked up an indoor antenna and it only picked up the station down the street (which the old TV, oddly, did not) but it didn't pick up any others. And if the volume is 1/4 or so of the way to max level and whatever you are watching has a lot of bass tones, the speakers start sound tinny and have a vibration to it. I can hear it just fine the lower volume, so it doesn't happen often. Also, the AV connectors are a little touchy or maybe my cords are old. When I initially hooked up my DVD player, it didn't recognize it right away. I had to unplug and then plug them back in. I then tried connecting the VCR (yes, I still go old school) with a separate cord and I had to wiggle and make sure each connector was very snug before it recognized that cord. Now, I just switch the plugs on the back of the players rather than switch the plugs on the back of the TV. I do not have a player with HDMI yet, so I cannot comment on that feature.

This is my first purchase of a flat screen, ever. I bought it to replace an old 1981 28" tv that I thought was blurry due to its age. This 32" LED is at least 5 times MORE blurry then my old tv. I use Mediacom and the cable box only has coaxial connections. That means I have to us the RF connection on the new tv. The picture is very blurry to the point you cannot read any text on the screen. Stationary text (like when the mediacom channel flip bar is open) is blurry and has ghost images and smeared like white/gray colors around the text. This is also appearing like that on normal cable channel viewing. I tried the "filter" that connects to the coax port that mediacom had put on my old tv to see if it would help but it changed nothing. I read about motion blur and know this is just a 720 with 60hz but did not expect to not be able to even read any text on screen. The picture looks like you are watching an old VHS tape from the 80's that is worn out. I switched back to my old Tv and the picture is actually BETTER than this LED one. I do not know why the picture is so much worse on this LED than on an old 1981 tv. I will be contacting customer service to see what can be done to clear up the picture. If there is no way to clear up the picture, I would consider this tv junk. I can get old tvs at garage sales for $10 that would be more clear than this. The picture reminds me of how the screen looked when your antenna was not right so you had ghost images and blurriness. Not something that should be showing on a cable signal on a brand new tv.

Bought this for my daughter as a TV for her dorm room which is equipped with a cable outlet. We connected the TV, did the channel search and no channels were found. Repeated several times with no luck, even when changing options for the search. So, I called the Westinghouse Customer support number. I was disconnected 3 times once I chose the correct call option and then had to repeat call until I was able to reach a service agent. The agent was helpful and she told me this TV will not work unless there is a cable box since it does not have a QAM tuner. Not good. Prior to purchase, there is no way to know which tuners this tv has since it is not noted on the box and Best Buy's website does not list Tuner options in the Specifications section of the product details. End result is that the TV will be returned and exchanged for an Insignia or low end model Samsung which have QAM tuners.

This is a great smaller, lower cost TV if you don't need or want a Smart TV. The 720p gives excellent picture quality. It's very hard to see the picture quality difference between 720p & 1080p on a TV this size, so you can save some money over buying a 1080p one . The input versatility is better than most other similar TVs - It has 3 HDMI inputs, Not just 2, it also has a combo Composite / Component video input, not just Composite and it also has a VGA input to connect your computer! The picture quality is great, however the sound quality is not so good, but that's to be expected on most TVs of this size. It's fine for most viewing. It should be possible to connect 2.1 "powered" computer speakers to this TV since it also has a Headphone audio output jack. I have not tried that yet, but it would be a lot cheaper than a Soundbar with subwoofer!

Bought as a Black Friday special so sale price had importance in decision making. Great picture but lousy sound. No complaints about the picture, even viewing from wide angles. Audio output rated at 12 watts but is hardly room-filling. Extreme distortion in any setting other than 'Standard', even at volume levels below the 'optimal' indicator. Long warm-up time. About 5 seconds elapsed before Westinghouse logo appears, often causing repeated pressing of the Power button to make sure it was on which actually turned it off again. Power LED and IR sensor are not embedded in screen frame but are in a little plastic extension sticking out of the bottom of the frame making the bottom uneven. The IR sensor seems to be recessed too much causing remote control operation from an angle to be hit or miss, and is sluggish even from directly in front. Having 3 HDMI inputs, as well as Composite, Component and PC inputs, is a bonus. However, it would be nice if it would 'skip' unused inputs when selecting the source. A unique feature is 'source blocking' where a particular source input can be 'blocked' without entering a password. Maximum resolution for PC is only 1366x768, but then again, it is only a 720P HDTV. Overall, it is a good TV for the price.

Do NOT buy from this company! My tv went out , after only having it 3 months. It has a 1 yr warranty, but Westinghouse , makes u pay postage to get it fixed! Not to mention, u have to mail it to Ontario, Canada!! So not worth it! I emailed them my pics for the tv, they claimed" we still didn't get ur email" bs... They want you to pay for everything, so you see it's not worth the hassle , and you will not spend the money to fix your tv. ( Bc it would be cheaper to have it done locally) I have found other owners of this brand of tv, and they have similar experiences. Pls look up this brand b4 you buy! Westinghouse is garbage! Don't waste your money!! You see a frozen "W" your tv is completely gone and its trash!
