Excellent film, special footage of the 'rumble in the jungle' - we really ought to save all the hyperbole for people such as Ali who was one of a kind. It's worth the price for the newly mastered film from Criterion - home theater at its' finest!!

For those of you that don't know the story of THE GREATEST HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF ALL TIME (do they exist?), this is a great beginning point. This is a well done factual story and so much more than that. Criterion has done a great job of porting over the extras while giving us a nice 4K scan of the 16 mm (mostly) elements. There is a real grit to the look of this film, and that is a good thing! The colors have a more natural look then any previous releases and the fine detail drop kicks the laserdisc version that I used to own so many years ago. As for the content, this movie tells the events that led up to the Rumble in the Jungle where Ali regained the heavyweight title after having it unjustly stripped from him. There is so much here from his slight of hand manipulation of the press to his honesty while reaching out to the people of a nation. The picture on the cover of the bluray says it all. I highly give my endorsement of this fine film and anyone curious about Muhammed Ali or is a true fan of him as a great man should not be without this excellent academy award winning release. It is not likely to get any better.
