Q: How much water is used in an 1- hour cycle?
A: Dear Valued Customer: Thank you for your inquiry regarding Whirlpool dishwasher model WDT790SAYM. This model will use much less water than any previous dishwasher you may have had. There is unfortunately not a set amount as the unit fills with sensors that detect soil level, detergent use, and water temperature. This can make the water usage vary per normal cycle. Average would be approximately 4-6 gallons. Thank you again for your inquiry. We appreciate and value your business!
A: We cannot access the controls when ours is closed, but it allows you to set the controls and start the machine while it's open. It won't begin the cycle until the door is closed though.
Q: Where is the location of the steam vent?
A: On the top left hand side of the door. if installed correctly the entire door should sit out from the cabinet. the countertop should still overhang a little over the control buttons on the top of the door which is fine. it doesn't get in the way of operating the unit.
Q: do i need an air gap for venting? my installer didn't put one in.
A: No. should not be needed.
