Not for the casual gamer, but an Epic tale awaits
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a game for the casual gamer, or for someone looking for a 'hit and run' game that can be played for 20-30 and then forgotten for a few days. This is an expansive game and time suck... and worth every immersive minute. The game's visuals are striking and beautiful and the scale breathtaking at times. The beauty and scale of the game are only second to the sheer size of the world; it's insanely big, dwarfing many other popular open world games on other systems. There are moments where the game is a bit unforgiving, combat can drag and some battles feel unfair until you realize you just need to level and equip accordingly... and actually use tactics/strategy. The time spent playing out the story until you get your first mech is pretty daunting, but again worth the wait. Other than those personal preferences (can't really call them flaws) and maybe some of the voice acting, I can't recommend this game strongly enough... at least for the jrpg and rpg fans in general who have a lot of time to invest.

Great open world, can get confusing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best game I've played on Wii U. Graphics are surprising for the system, and the story is interesting. The MMO style combat is fast and fun. My only complaints are the lack of direction for some side quests (you wil get lost) and the aweful music in the main city. I'm glad Monolith provided the free DLC packs to get around the disc and improve the game's textures, load times, and overall stability though.

Fun for the WiiU
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being one of the few non Mario exclusives on the WiiU this game really shines. The world is huge and filled with all kinds of exotic creatures great and small. The different environments are a joy to explore and the areas are packed with things to do. The combat is fast paced and the are a variety of classes and skills to master. However the one big downside is the music. It's terrible, seriously horrible bad. I thought other reviews blew it out of proportion, I was wrong, it is so very truly awful. It's fine when you are running around the open field, but go into the city or get into the fight and your ears will be punished. I find myself finishing fights as fast as possible so the music will end. Bad music aside the game is really fun and I do recommend it, just be ready for that music!

Awsome!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best WiiU Games..... While the fighting is not my thing, the exploration was fantastic.... many various environments to explore and the world is HUGE!!!! Hours and hours to solve this one, and there is not shortage of excitement or story. Only down side the RPG system is a bit confusing and complex and takes time to get used to. But the games helps ease you into some of it so you don't have to learn it all at once. My favorite is once you get a Skell and can fly, the map really opens up. North south east and west and now up is a direction to explore... Places that were inaccessible are now full of areas new and ready to explore. If you have a WIIU and are looking for a great game try this!

I'm impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It may not be exactly my cup of tea, but a lot of solid effort went into this game and it shows. Firstly, the story is compelling, unless sci-fi survival just isn't your thing. As you continue to play, it doesn't take long for the story to get very complex with new plot elements added as you continue to explore. And that is another thing all together: there is a lot to explore, and it is lush and thick, rich in attention to detail and strategy. Each situation has to be handled using an approach that works, and with the open world as rich as it is, I suppose the approach will vary extraordinarily from player to player, thus making Xenoblade Chronicles X a very different game for each player. Lastly, that brings me to customization. Weapons, outfits, characters, jobs, etc.: there's enough here to satisfy every style of play. Every element of Xenoblade is crafted to perfection, and I can see why Nintendo believes in Monolith Soft.

Great RPG, beautiful graphics, great story!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never played Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii so I did a lot of research to find that you didn't need to in order to play this game. Once I knew that I knew I had to buy this game due to all of the rave reviews I've read on it. The game has great graphics and I regularly just stare in awe at the vast and beautiful world they made for the game. It's been a while since I've played a JRPG and this one very much meets and exceeds my expectations. The story seems great so far and the gameplay is very fun. My only gripe is that it does a poor job of explaining combat and other functions to you but instead there is a game manual built in that you have to read in order to fully understand the complicated mechanics.
