A: Yes, you can hook up both the 7.1 inside and two speakers outside. The system will automatically shut off two of your 7.1 system when you use the two outdoor speakers. So depending on which those speakers are presence or rear, your surround system won't have them during the use of your outdoor speakers. I do not find this to be an issue as I am not usually playing music outdoors when playing a surround movie indoors.
A: Our 1060 creates quite a bit of heat. We have a 4" clearance between the top and the next shelf. In hindsight, I should have installed a ventilation fan in the rear of the recessed nook where our entertainment system is installed.
Q: What about a remote?? I'm not seeing a remote. Does it come with one if not what is suggested?
A: Get the zones needed and purchase the Logitech Remote that runs everything 1 remote for all components.
Q: Which Receiver should I purchase? RX-A1060 or RX-A860 and why?
A: Speaker wattage output, audio clarity, and transistors. Yamaha tends to have stronger heatsink tech in their higher models. Which means you can have a home party with the 1060 without worrying about over heating. IMO
A: There's only one front presence input. Left and right channel. The others are surround back, front, center.....etc. And yes, the presence are your Atmos speakers.
