If you are not familiar, Proposition 65 is a law that was passed in California in 1986 requiring companies to provide Californians with warnings about exposure to chemicals that can cause bodily harm. The state has compiled a list of those chemicals and updates them at least once a year. That list has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals since it was first published in 1987 and you will find everyday products like coffee, alcohol, and gasoline often carry the same warning in California. The law requires the disclosure even if trace amounts of the chemical are present and even if that level poses no threat to consumer health and well-being.
