Amazed
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Incredible control and sound quality. It's prefect for podcasts and mic control on film projects. Easy controls and long battery life. I recommend watching a review view but you dont really need to take the time, get it, its seriously impressive stuff.

Comfortable Hold and Crisp Sound
||Posted .I’m new to sound equipment and did some research before making this purchase. In the end, I was stuck between the H4 and H5 as I understood these to be some of the more common in the industry for professional field recording. I’ve been using the H5 for over 6 months now and am very pleased with the crisp, high quality sound it records. I love popping in my headphones and just listening to the enhanced reality surrounding me as I’m recording. Feels surreal, like being in the IMAX. When held close, it captures your voice nicely and is great for audio notes. A bit of a podcast tone to it. The rubber-like material around the grip is great and keeps it from slipping or moving around in your hand. It’s also a slimmer and sleeker build compared to the H4. Light weight and easy to grab with you on the go. I’m very happy with the purchase. While I don’t have personal experience with the H4, I’d say if you can afford it, go for the H5. It’s been improved to offer a more comfortable experience for the user, although I believe the sound itself is highly comparable. The H4 has been used by professionals for years and is too a great investment for a smaller budget.

Quality audio recorder
||Posted .Owned for 6 months when reviewed.Always been a fan of zoom products and this one lives up to my expectations. It's great for capturing VOs, and as a field recorder for capturing audio if the video camera we are suing doesn't have xlr inputs.

||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Bought this to record live bar bands and and outside gigs. Especially like the ability to use the xlr inputs and mix the front xy capsule, plus the xy in interchangeable with other zoom capsules.

Excellent for mid grade recordings.
||Posted .I'm a live sound engineer and love to record my shows. I can't always multi track so the H5 is exactly what I need to get a matrix recording. The XY pattern mics also get a great ambient recording. This is great for movie audio recording as well. The card that comes with it is operational but, not big. Definitely get a larger size one for big projects.

Great recording
||Posted .Been using this device to record audio for my videos. The sound quality is great, plus I love the versatility of the device. The only bummer is that it does not accept 64GB card, only 32 GB.

Q: QuestionDoes this have a voice change feature?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I have used these for several years, Although I have never needed this feature on this device, I have never seen where it did. I always use an external system to get those kind of features. I's a great recorder tho.....

Q: QuestionWhy they not creating cable from the mic to the base could be deferent sizes of cables for options so you be able to plant just the microphon even on a boom it will be great think about it
Asked by IBJSOUND.
- A:Answer Zoom does actually offer an extension cable for the swappable microphone capsules. It's the "Zoom ECM-3 Extension Cable for Zoom Interchangeable Input Capsules", which sounds like what you're looking for. Just keep in mind that the gain knob for the microphone module is on the module itself, which would be at the end of the boom pole if you mount it there. This might make setting levels a tad more difficult than if it were on the recorder itself, but once they are set, it shouldn't be an issue.

Q: QuestionCan it be used as a meeting recorder for transcription?
Asked by Jrose52.
- A:Answer It can, though you may want to get the omnidirectional mic for it. Keep in mind, this is targeted at recording for audio production and may be overkill if you just want to reproduce what was said at a meeting. The recording will definitely be super high quality if that's what you are looking for.
