Great Secondary Monitor for Everyday Use
Pros: • Great value for what it’s meant to be • Smooth performance with good frame handling • 1080p looks solid at 27 inches • Easy adjustment coming from a larger main display Cons: • Not OLED (but that’s expected at this price) Review: My main display is a 32-inch OLED, so I didn’t buy this monitor for high-end gaming or visual perfection. I mainly needed a secondary screen for watching videos, movies, and general use—and for that purpose, this monitor does exactly what I needed. The 1080p resolution looks better than expected at 27 inches, and the transition from a 32-inch OLED to this monitor wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The refresh rate is smooth, everything feels responsive, and overall the display quality is solid for everyday viewing. For what it is and how I’m using it, this monitor performs very well and meets my expectations.

Performance: Speed Over Everything The headline feature is the 180Hz refresh rate paired with a staggering 0.5ms (MPRT) response time. In fast-paced titles like Valorant or Counter-Strike 2, the motion clarity is exceptional for a VA panel. While older VA monitors suffered from "black smearing," AOC’s 2025 tuning has minimized this significantly, ensuring that enemies remain sharp even during quick 180-degree turns. Display and Immersion The 1500R curve on a 27-inch screen strikes the "sweet spot" for immersion, wrapping the peripheral edges slightly toward your field of view without distorting the image. Contrast: Being a VA panel, it offers deep blacks and a high contrast ratio that IPS panels can't match, making it excellent for atmospheric horror or space-sim games. Resolution Note: At 1080p on a 27-inch canvas, the pixel density is lower than a 1440p screen. AOC 27" Curved Gaming Monitor
Getting about 200 fps in FN with this monitor! Awesome pick for our kiddo that just got a new gaming PC. Very glad we came back to Best Buy once again to get the BEST deal. They always have the BEST options available are so helpful every time we visit!
