I recently installed four pairs of Bowers & Wilkins CCM 683 8" 2-Way In-Ceiling Speakers throughout my house, each pair powered by its own Sonos amp, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the moment I started listening, it was immediately clear that Bowers & Wilkins maintains the level of quality they’re known for — the sound is exceptionally clear and crisp, with incredible detail across the entire frequency range. Vocals, instruments, and cinematic effects all come through with remarkable fidelity, and the in-ceiling placement doesn’t compromise the audio at all. The bass, in particular, is surprising for an in-ceiling speaker. Each note is punchy and defined without ever feeling boomy or muddled, providing a full and immersive listening experience that fills the room effortlessly. Whether it’s music, movies, or casual background listening, the CCM 683s perform beautifully at both low and high volumes, maintaining clarity and separation throughout. Installation was straightforward, and the paintable grilles blend seamlessly into the ceilings, keeping a clean and minimalist aesthetic without drawing attention away from the rest of the room. The build quality is robust, which is exactly what you expect from Bowers & Wilkins — these feel like speakers that will perform flawlessly for many years to come. Overall, having four pairs of CCM 683 speakers powered by Sonos amps has elevated the entire audio experience in my home. The combination of precise, crisp highs, rich mids, and surprisingly strong bass makes these in-ceiling speakers feel far beyond their category. BW’s quality never disappoints, and for anyone looking to integrate high-end audio discreetly into their home, these speakers are an absolute must-have.

Using as rear surround ceilings, they provide the sound and clarity I was looking for, they can handle and amount of volume you give it with no issues, a but pricey is their only downfall, you can get a nice set of bookshelf pairs for less

Replaced my floor standing Bowers & Wilkins with these and was pleasantly surprised at the clarity and overall sound quality. I did build backer boxes that help with sound direction and base levels. The install was very easy and I like the clean look they provide.
