Keep an eye on things with this D-Link HD camera. It shoots in 720p resolution, so you don't miss a thing, and it has night vision to function in low-light conditions for around-the-clock coverage. This D-Link HD camera connects with the mydlink app, so you can view footage from your mobile device.
Q: Can I view live feeds with a smartphone? Thanks guys.
A: Yes, the phone app worked great, unfortunately I wanted to use it for watching video on my Lenovo Smart Screen, didn't work out so great.
Q: Does this support 2 way audio?
A: No
A: I have two recently purchased DCS-8300LH cameras on the same wifi system with my android V5.1 phone with the latest "mydlink" app installed. The camera settings were both RECORD TO CLOUD STORAGE (not record to SD card, you get your choice one or the other but not both at the same time) . I disconnected my internet from the router to see what would happen so I could answer your question. I also intentionally triggered motion on one of the cameras while internet was disconnected. Results: No, I was not able to view the cameras live from my phone over my wifi. However when the phone sensed the loss of wifi and switched to 4G cellular network, I WAS able to view previously recorded EVENT CLIPS (which were recorded in the cloud because the camera had been set to RECORD TO CLOUD STORAGE (not RECORD TO SD CARD). Then I reconnected the internet to my router. I received notifications pushed to my phone that had been recorded in the cloud stating "DCS-8300LH-XXXX is offline" with the correct time and then another showing "DCS-8300LH-XXXX is back online". Additionally the Event I triggered was recorded but only with the correct time and no video : with an error message NO CLIP FOUND Your internet bandwith is insufficient ...¨. Hope this helps, now I will have to repeat this later with RECORD TO SD CARD STORAGE selected and see what happens.
Q: Can you hook multiple cameras up in your house to the same app and view all of them?
A: Yes you can, different models also.
Q: Can the unit be wall mounted?
A: Yes
A: Yes, the camera can record sound to an SD card. You can view the feed from the SD card without wifi.
A: Sort of. The app does provide a screen that shows multiple cameras you have linked to the account. However you a limited as to the number of live feeds you can view in the app. You have to stop one to start another if you are at the max viewing limit.
A: A very basic manual is provided but it just instructs on how you plug it in and then directs you to their website or app to continue the set up.
