The NVY-6HDCF-N8 is a 6.5" hybrid loudspeaker from the DS18 NVY series, the brand's high-performance line. It handles 300 watts RMS and 600 watts peak at 8 ohms. Construction includes a carbon fiber cone, a treated cloth surround and a die cast aluminum basket. The motor uses a neodymium assembly. Sensitivity is rated at 105dB across a 70Hz to 20kHz response. Mounting requires a 5.7" / 145mm cutout and 3.8" / 97.3mm of depth, so confirm the opening before installing. Sold individually.
The carbon fiber cone holds its shape under sustained power instead of flexing and losing definition, paired with treated cloth surround and die cast aluminum basket. Material choice is what separates a driver that stays accurate from one that only plays loud.
A neodymium motor drives 300 watts RMS and 600 watts peak, built around 2" voice coil on a kapton former and 17.63 Oz of magnet. Neodymium keeps the motor compact and the magnetic field strong, which means tighter cone control at full output.
A compression driver handles the upper range from the center of the assembly. It delivers the output and clarity a dome tweeter cannot reach in an open-air install.
The driver covers 70Hz to 20kHz as a single moving assembly, so the midrange stays continuous instead of handing off between drivers. Vocals and instruments hold their body and their edge at the top of the volume range.
At 105dB, the motor and cone convert amplifier power into acoustic output with little waste. Less energy turns into heat, the voice coil runs cooler through long sessions, and dynamics stay intact when the system is pushed.
