Q: Is the touchpad very sensitive? Will it activate if passing by or if dishwasher is bumped?
A: They are sensitive to touches except for the Start button. It won't activate by bumping or passing. In order to activate, you have to push the button with your fingers. Once in a while we bump a button or two while unloading the dishes but nothing happens because Start button is not pushed. In order to start, the Start button has to be pushed firmly. It is a nice dishwasher. We are very happy with it.
Q: how loud is this dishwasher?
A: Hi - Thanks for viewing GE Model GDP645SYNFS! The decibel rating is 48 dBA. Ultra-quiet operation creates a peaceful kitchen environment even as it delivers powerful wash performance. It has a quiet water valve, sealed toe kick, tub collar trim, bitumen full wrap insulation blanket and mastic door insulation. We'd love to have you in the family. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A: If you are mechanically and electrically inclined, you will have no problem at all installing this dishwasher. It installs pretty easy. Watch some installations on YouTube before you install your own. GE Did a really good job with the installation manual, and believe it or not, the manuals haven't changed much in over 20 years!!. BTW, this dishwasher requires a 90 degree hose type of water fitting that you'll have to purchase at a hardware store. The one thing to be careful of is that they didn't leave much distance between the inside of the cardboard shipping box and the components that could get damaged by a long box cutter blade knife. I say this because I used a box cutter on the box and cut right on the dotted line they say to cut on and found that my blade tip touched some of the dishwasher components as I went around the box. Specifically the blade can contact the pully and cord that keeps tension on the door. Luckily I didn't actually cut through any parts. Make sure you don't forget to install the white insulation blanket they give you. I took mine off temporarily to gain access to the drain hose and at first forgot to re-install it. Later on I pulled the washer out enough to re-install it. Good luck with your install.
A: Hello Naren - Congratulations on the new dishwasher! We would be more than happy to help with it. To setup the Delay Start, press Delay Hours to select the number of hours, then press Start one time and close the door to begin the countdown. If you hear beeping and the countdown does not start, it is likely that the door has not closed properly. Make sure nothing is obstructing the door around the edge or inside the unit. Q: Does it come with an electrical cord, water supply line, and drainage hose?
A: No you have to buy the starter kit for the plug. If you are hard wiring it your fine.
A: Hi there, and thanks for this great question! We appreciate your interest in these models and their drying options, and we’re glad to assist. Both these models feature Dry Boost with Fan Assist, which is designed to get difficult to dry items like plastic up to three times dryer than heated dry cycles; it uses a fan and even heating to circulate air and dry the dishes. It is not considered the same as No Heat or Condensate Dry; Condensate Dry would involve air drying of the dish load and condensation forming on the walls of the tub instead. While these models don’t feature a Condensate Dry cycle, there is the option to turn off Dry Boost; you can then allow the dishes to naturally air dry and open the door to speed the process, if you wish. We hope this information is helpful. If you wanted to review the features of the dishwashers further, we do have the manuals available on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. We’re always happy to help if you have any other questions or concerns – all the best! -Sarah@GEA
A: Hello Mike - Congratulation on your new dishwasher purchase! Thank you for your question; we are glad to assist. The spinner takes the place of the upper spray arm and distributes water in the same way as a spray arm. We hope this helps. Thanks for checking! Olga
A: Yes! Due to the 1/2” of clearance that I have between my countertop and the controls, that is exactly what I have to do! As long as you close the door within 2 - 3 seconds, the cycle should start.
