GE Profile - Electric Induction Range (Model: PHS93XYP6FS) REVIEW We ordered GE stove from Best Buy Online Feb 20, 2023 and were able to pick it up in the store Mar 22, 2023. (We ordered it from Best Buy because we thought they would handle it carefully in shipping because they handle sensitive electronic items like TV all the time.) We had it shipped to the store and then picked it up and installed it ourselves so we knew it would not be dropped or damaged while being installed. GE Profile - Electric Induction Range (Model: PHS93XYP6FS) This range had all the features we were looking for and we liked the design. When we were setting up the stove, the fancy rolling slide out oven rack “Range Oven Rack Slide Assembly” (part # WB48X20881 @ $383.57) would not go in the stove correctly. This was maddening! I finally found a YouTube video that showed exactly how it is to install and realized the "Range Oven Rack Slide Assembly" that we had received with our stove was not correct--it was the wrong one! I called customer service and they said they would send me out the correct one. We later called back after we had waited awhile and found it was backordered until May 26, 2023. She said to make sure we got one, she would put in an order for another one. Over the months we did receive two, but it was most frustrating to have been given the wrong one to start with and then having to wait months to get the correct one. After having used the stove for a couple of weeks, the induction stove top stop working. This is an induction stove top and it would try to come on, and then it would shut off. The GE tech that came out was very good and diagnosed the problem with the (I believe) the master induction control module. It took two weeks or so to get the part shipped to our house and then for the technician to come back. (He was in the middle of moving from one company vehicle to another.) He came back out, tore the entire stove top apart and put the new module in. And it has worked well ever since. We had to order a portable induction stove from Amazon to use during this time (duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop Burner @ $116.00) On Saturday, July 13, 2024 my wife was baking potatoes in the oven and frying bacon in a pan on the stove top. She had a cutting board on one side of the stovetop that was not being used. As she was cutting raw bacon and putting it into the pan, the back of the knife hit the front edge of the glass “stainless control panel with wifi” and caused a piece of the glass control panel to fracture off and go onto the stove top! When this happened she asked me to look at the stove to try to figure out what had happened because she was not using the knife very forcefully. That is when I saw the nick on the glass control panel. Also during this, the stove was trying to do a software update and kind of locked up. We were afraid the damaged glass control panel may be causing this. I went outside and power cycled the electric breaker to the stove and it came back on and has worked correctly since. On Monday I called GE customer support and asked for help. They said it was out of warranty and a service call would be $114.95 plus parts and labor. The control panel can only be ordered as a complete unit. STAINLESS CONTROL PANEL W/ WIFI (part # WB27X45013) @ $948.05!!! I asked because of the newness of our stove and the other troubles we have had if they could do a courtesy repair or any kind of help. The customer support lady said they may be able to give a 20% discount on the part, but she would have to check with her supervisor first. After turning off the power to the stove, I was able to take the control panel off and used a diamond file to carefully round down the sharp edge on the glass edge (it was about 3” long) so no one would cut themselves on it. I can now see and feel with my fingernail many little cracks in the glass in this area. In a few days it will be two weeks since this happened. The stove is currently working fine, but for how long? Will the cracked glass control panel get worse and affect the use? Over all we really enjoy the stove and its features. It seems maybe they should have designed a stainless steel piece of trim that could protect this fragile edge.

The sales person, Nora Winkelaar, that helped me gets 5K plus stars (I asked for permission to use her name:))! The range: I haven't been able to use it much since I had to run the oven more than half a dozen times on self clean and because the chemical odor was horrendous and even though I washed the racks and the oven 3 times, I still had to keep trying to burn it off. I also haven't been able to try the Hestan pan and burner for it, since that is taking an eternity to get to me via the rebate form with GE. The appliance itself has been a frustrating experience thus far due to these issues. I have been able to use the induction burner and that seems to work great. The camera does work. I haven't had any issue with the app or tech stuff. Let's hope it stays that way!

Cooks well, but the software needs improvements. Hestan cue integration is flawed. Precision cooking sensor reports wrong temperature.
