This brand new 1/72 scale diecast model of the Hetzer (Starr) Tank Destroyer "Kampfgruppe Milowitz, Prague" (1945) by Panzerstahl is a limited edition collector’s item featuring detailed exterior and true-to-scale accuracy. The model comes in the manufacturer’s original unopened packaging and includes a plastic display showcase for protection. Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, it measures approximately 2.5 inches in length (3.375 with cannon), 1.375 inches in width, and 1.25 inches in height, providing durability and a realistic weight. Pad-printed markings and placards ensure long-lasting detail that won’t fade or peel, while realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels, and surface features offer an authentic representation of the real vehicle. The Sd.Kfz. 138/2 Jagdpanzer 38 "Hetzer" was a light tank destroyer used by Nazi Germany during the later stages of World War II. The Starr variant featured a rigidly mounted 75mm Pak 39 L/48 gun, designed to reduce production time and costs, and was produced in very limited numbers, with only a handful operational by the end of the war. In May 1945, Kampfgruppe Milowitz deployed these rare vehicles in Prague to hold back advancing Soviet and Czechoslovak forces, using them in defensive positions across the city. Despite their potential, mechanical issues and limited availability hampered their effectiveness, and by Germany’s surrender, the remaining Jagdpanzer 38 Starrs were either destroyed or abandoned, with surviving units captured by Soviet forces. This 1:72 scale model captures the distinctive rigid gun mount, battle-worn finish, and detailed features of this rare tank destroyer, offering collectors and World War II enthusiasts a highly accurate and historically significant representation of one of Germany’s last armored innovations.
