    It works but it's not cheap

    This docking station works seamlessly with my HP laptop and dual monitors. However, there are a few drawbacks. The docking station seems larger than it needs to be. Many other brands produce docking stations that are both smaller and cheaper. Another downside is the USB-C cable that connects to the laptop. HP should make these cables replaceable, not built-in to the unit. My cat chewed the USB-C cable on my previous HP docking station until it was no longer usable, so in my opinion, it's pretty fragile. The cat wasn't on it long before it was toast. If I didn't need immediate access to my dual monitor setup, I very likely would have researched other brands. The Pros: RJ45 ethernet port, USB-C charging through main USB-C cable, 1 USB-C port, 1 HDMI port, 2 Display Ports, 4 additional USB ports, audio/headphone connector, and it just plain works. The Cons: Expensive, Bulky, Short USB-C cable that is not replaceable, only 1 HDMI port, and only 1 USB-C port that feels randomly placed at the front of the unit. I have no idea what I would use this port for. There's no indication on the unit that this is a Thunderbolt port.

    Good quality hp hub it seems

    Got this for gf so she can connect her hp laptop to use dual monitor setup for work purpose and it works as intended. Evrn though i am sure i can get a cheaper multi monitor usb hub for under 100, but i think its worth it to pay extra 50 for full compatibility. So far, she has zero issue with it after 3 weeks usage.

    Needs regular reboots.

    I bought this for my home office because my firm and my client (USG) also use them. I have an HP Z-Book laptop and an MacBook which both work with it. Overall it's OK - you can charge and connect multiple devices to it with a single USB-C Thunderbolt cable hard-wired to the station. Here's the issue. I and most of my co-workers experience periodic crashing of the device, particularly (get this) with HP laptops. The attached monitor goes dark periodically. You have to power it off and on. If you don't mind rebooting and resetting it every few days...

    Dock size

    Bigger than I expected but seems to perform as expected. No users manual and hard to find any instructions although it is mostly intuitive.

    Great Docking System

  • I have 2 HP monitors with VGA and HDMI connections.I would like to extend display to HP 17-cn0112ds laptop. Will this work? If not what accessories do you recommend? thanks

    Thank you for your question about this docking station! This will not work with your laptop as the 17-cn0112ds ports do not have the signaling rate or the pass-through DisplayPort required to support multiple external monitors. Those features are in the Pavilion, Envy, Spectre, and OmniBook laptops, which are available for purchase in Best Buy stores or online.

  • Will this work with a HP laptop 17t-cn300?

    Hello and thank you for asking.. The HP USB-C Dock G5 (5TW10AA) will work with the HP 17t-cn300 laptop. However, the USB-C port on that laptop does not support a transfer rate fast enough for video. This is why any additional monitors connected to the dock's DisplayPort ports will not work.

  • Does this also power the laptop when I plug in its USB-C cable to the laptop USB-C charging port? The specs say no passthrough power, but I'm seeing conflicting answers here.

    Thank you for your question about this USB-C dock! This dock can charge mobile devices like smartphones through the USB-A ports that are on it, but it does not have the power delivery for laptops.

  • Will this work with a Samsung NP730QFG-KA1US Laptop and monitor MSI 27 FHD IPS Nvidia G-Sync Gaming Monitor Optix G273. Additionally, does this docking station have its own power supply which the laptop would be charged from.

    This is made with compatibility with all kinds of laptops, including your Samsung. It comes with an external power supply that handles 100 watts and supports power delivery through the USB-C port on the laptop: Make sure the dock is connected to port that has the lightning logo on it.
