Q: Would it work for a original ps4?
A: Yes but you have to be mindful that it covers the disc port when plugged into a normal ps4 so you have to remove to change disc.
Q: Does this allow an External HD to be used thru it?
A: No you can not use this on the PS4 slim it will tell you Cannot use the external storage device. Connect it directly to the PS4. (CE-41899-1) Is exactly what it says as I just copied it from my screen. I have a headset that requires 1 port and the other I have to swap it between the storage and the charger - I have a scuf so it doesn't sit in the cradle of the other charger due to the back paddles. So when I saw this product I instantly bought it and now that I know it doesn't work sorta ticked that it is advertised as working for the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim.
Q: Is it gonna work as a keyboard/mouse converter?
A: This is an answer to the other "answer" that asked if it's USB 3.0. Recapped from my review of this product, This is a very deceiving product as only 1 port is USB 3.0, others are just 2.1 at best and using shared power. The port on the right is a pass-thru port directly from the PS4's USB port, so it should be USB 3.0. It has full power from PS4, so should not have problem for any USB device. The 3 ports on the left share the same removable connector behind (so to fit Slim or Pro). The connector has only 5 pins, so it cannot be USB 3.0. Which means they might only get 100ma per port. So for keyboard and mouse, they should work, but for other device that require more power, those might need to be external powered.
Q: Will this work with a External SSD Hard Drive
A: No. Do research on this device and on google I’m positive you can find one with that capability, you’ll just waste your money bud.

A: Just the mouse. Would not recommend the keyboard.
