Q: Will this radio get AM stations

A: This radio does not get AM statins.

Q: Is this radio battery operated only?

A: No, it comes with an adapter also.

Q: Picks up both HD and none HD?

A: It only picks up FM and FM HD.

Q: Why does the Preset feature always default to the highest number -- the absolute last station saved instead of moving to the next in the lineup? E.g, I'm listening to the 3rd one, I hit preset + and instead of it moving to the 4th one, it jumps to 20.

A: It's not you, just a bad design. I presume that it wasn't spec'd to operate like this but bad code found its way into the product, no one tested it, they made a million, and we are stuck with a 'broken' radio. Feeling your pain mate :(

Q: My friend Bob bought this radio to pick up 106.1 from Bangor, Maine, but he lives an hour away and it won't come in. Do you have any answers for him?

A: If you haven't given up yet, I'll try to keep it simple. I don't know the hight of 106.1s transmitter antenna but due to the curvature of the earth and FM signals don't bend they travel in strait lines, from a 500 foot tower the radio horizon would be about 30 miles, give or take the terrain If he lives an hour from Bangor you didn't say which direction, 50 miles is over the horizon. Sorry, you could try raising the receiver 200 or 300 feet, tower & antenna mountains count if you are on the Bangor side of the mountain otherwise they just get in the way or cause reflections. Now failing that. Does Bob have access to the internet? most radio stations stream their program content live or old shows on podcast repeats. Logitech used to manufacture an internet receiver, plug it in to your router and you have over 10,000 radio sites world wide, If you didn't want to tie up your computer listening to the radio. Good luck, Dave__________

Q: Does this radio have a way to save stations in memory or just listen to the one currently tuned in?

A: Yes, it has 20 memory presets. I have two Insignia HD radios and a SPARC HD Radio. The SPARC is junk...Insignia is the best. One Insignia has lasted over six years. Hope this helps.
