Q: The previous versions of lenovo yoga 710 had problems with fan noise. how is this one?
A: I just bought this computer and I have NOT experienced a loud fan noise. I didn't read the reviews until after I purchased it and came home with it, and after reading what others said about the noise I was discouraged. I planned on using it for school and I certainly wasn't going to keep a computer that would draw attention to me during a quiet lecture. Even though that was something I never would have paid attention to, it lead me to focus on it more and wait for the loud fan noise. After using my computer for awhile, setting it all up, signing into all of my accounts and downloading apps, I still have yet to hone in on a noisy fan. I do hear the fan briefly here and there but only sounds that are to be expected--nothing even close to considering it a "noisy fan".
Q: Does this laptop have a pen included? If not is there one to purchase?
A: No, this system does not come with a stylus. It is not compatible with a digital stylus or active pen technology. You can purchase separately, a regular capacitive touch stylus to use with this system.
A: Yes, you can hear the fan when it runs. Whether is would bother you, is a personal evaluation. We recommend you check out the computer yourself. Best Buy has a great return policy: Within 15 days, undamaged device, with your receipt. Give the device a try in your own real world circumstance.
Q: does this laptop have 7th gen i7? in the official website it's mentioned as 6th gen
A: No, the laptop does not have a 7th gen I7 it has an Intel I5.
A: Make sure you are using the latest BIOS update. The latest update came out on 1/17/17. Here is the link: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/Yoga-Series/yoga-710-14ikb/80V4/000GUS/downloads/DS118587.
Q: Micro HDMI port output full HD LIKE 1920*1080 high resolution on mentior or HDTV??
A: Yes, this system will send a 1920 x 1080 signal out through the Micro HDMI port.
A: SSD is a SATA M.2 connector NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor). Small, just chips on a small circuit card. RAM is DDR4. PC4‑17000 DDR4‑2133MHz non‑ECC Unbuffered The Hardware manual from Lenovo (see link) lists a 4GB Dimm and a 8GB dim PN's. The picture in the manual looks like there is only 1 Dimm socket. But a table in the manual lists 8GB max for the 14 inch and 16 GB for the 15.6 inch laptop. But they don't list a 16GB part number. Confusing. Except for the table in the manual which lists 16GB for 15 inch all other advertising says 8GB max for both screen sizes https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/yoga_710-14isk_14ikb_15isk_15ikb_hmm_201605.pdf If you don't care about warranty issue and are good with a screw driver the parts are fairly easy to replace. You have to remove the battery to get at the SSD.
Q: What makes this Yoga 710 different from the previous version outside of the Kaby Lake chipset?
A: The configuration on this model is the same as the older model, with the exception of the improved performance of the 7th generation Intel Core I-5 processor and the improved integrated graphics processing that comes with it. The previous model has been soldout for about a month.
