upgraded from the LG 27GS95QE (WOLED, 3rd gen), and the difference is immediately noticeable. This new panel is significantly brighter across both full-screen and windowed APL levels, with color reproduction that gets very close to QD-OLED gamut and saturation. For someone like me who doesn’t need more than 240Hz, this panel is essentially my endgame. There are people who criticize the matte anti-glare coating, but in my case, it’s an advantage. Glossy surfaces tend to cause eye strain due to reflections, so the matte finish actually provides a more comfortable and consistent viewing experience.

After trying out both QD and Woled this new Tandem oled panel is definitely a lot closer to QD oled than the previous 3rd gen Woled with MLA. Better colors and ever better brightness. One thing I did have to the with this LG model is to run a couple of pixel cleanings due to very noticeable grey banding out of the box and it definitely fixed it back to normal.

At first, I thought this monitor was spectacular and the image quality was amazing. However, when I first attempted to clean this, I noticed a giant diagonal band across the screen only visible with direct light on a dark screen. I contacted LG support to see if this was maybe a protective film I missed, but they informed me this was the actual display. Telling them this was cleaned with electronic wipes and a microfiber cloth gave support the idea that I did this myself and I would be responsible for the full cost of repairs. Not the kind of thing you'd want to hear, especially when you suspect this cosmetic damage is a fault of manufacturing. It's completely unnoticeable during use, so it functionally doesn't really matter but dealing with LG left a bad taste in my mouth. I urge you to inspect your monitors with a broad light to see if this occurred in your monitors as well though this may ruin your experience. Mostly upset with LG for telling me more or less to return it if I don't like it. Weird take.
