Q: Do I need special cookware to avoid scratching and discoloration?

A: Hi Jburns012, you will mainly need to just be careful to not slide any cookware over the surface, We also recommend not using items like Cast Iron. The best cookware to use will have a smooth, flat bottom so it can make a good contact with the surface. We also suggest using affresh® cooktop cleaner to keep your glass top looking great!

Q: Can you bake just like a traditional oven in this model without using the convection feature?

A: Yes, you can use it as a regular oven or choose to use it as convection.

Q: . Can the bottom rack be exchanged for a flat rack? It looks like it will waste precious oven space and won't allow several pans to be on the rack at the same time.

A: Melanie, Yes, the bottom rack can be replaced with one of the flat racks. This would allow about 2"- 3" of additional flat surface for pan placement. If you're using pans or baking dishes with sloped sides, similar to a pie plate, the original bottom rack will accommodate that shape without sacrificing surface space. While one can gain a couple inches of space with the flat rack, I'm not sure how having a rack surface covered "wall-to-wall" might impact cook time or performance. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!

Q: Can you please tell me the measurements for this stove?

A: The unit is 48 inches high, 30 inches wide and 27.8 inches deep.

Q: This is a Maytag electric range. Yet the description says Whirlpool beneath the product when describing the features. "Cook for a crowd with the five burners and large capacity of this Whirlpool electric range, featuring true...". Confusing to me.

A: Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, Magic Chef plus several other brands are all products owned by the Whirlpool Corporation. Just like Lexus is Toyota or an Acura is a Honda.

Q: I'm looking for a stove top that will allow me to simmer foods on a low simmer. My current smooth top boils food at it's lowest setting. Will this allow foods to be simmered at a low simmer or even just to keep warm?

A: While there is not a dedicated simmer burner, you can simmer while cooking using the low heating option. There is also a melt burner on this appliance. The Melt Cooking Zone offers flexibility due to a wide range of settings between High and Melt. The High heat option can be used to boil small amounts of liquid quickly. To reduce the power setting, turn the knob clockwise. The Melt setting is designed for delicate foods that require low heat, such as when melting chocolate or holding sauces. Use cookware appropriate in size for the Melt Cooking Zone.

Q: Is this range self-cleaning?

A: This range indicates that it is self-cleaning, but the feature is not at all the type of self-cleaning that you may be used to. I wish I had googled AquaLift self-cleaning before I bought this range.

Q: How do u clean black flat top of oven ?

A: Hello Lsa927, Clean the cooktop after each use to help avoid scratches, pitting, abrasions and to condition the glass surface. Ceramic glass cooktop cleaner and a cooktop scraper are also recommended for stubborn soils. Do not use abrasive cleaners, cleaning pads or harsh chemicals for cleaning. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!
