A: If you have the best buy total membership, there is no need to purchase a seperate warranty. The total membership covers all types of items and they dont even have to be bought at a best buy. It is worth yearly charge and not to mention the membership perks
A: The 24 month protection plan covers accidental damage, software issues. And some other things. Best bet is to look up there protection agreement and at the bottom of the words protection agreement in smal letters there will be a blue link terms and conditions. Alternatively they have QnA that are answered by best buy. And if i remember correctly this question was one of the ones they answered.
A: You should contact your local best buy and they will point you in the right direction. Before i posted this answer i backed out and read the service agreement. It states to take it into the physical best buy store and they will fix it if covered under the warranty or replace it/ give credits of what the item was worth if they dont have that same product. Hope this helps and good luck. I doubt they expect you to walk in treadmill in hands.
A: If you had the geek squad protection plan you cant extend its plan. However you can purchase a 24 month best buy protection plan and extend it that way. I dont see anything that specifically states you cant renew a 24 month best buy protection plan. However it does state the item must be eligible for the plan.

HOLY COW!!! ABSOLUTE MONSTER SUBWOOFER
I purchased the Theatre bar 9 soundbar last year , with the marketing tag that cinema is coming home. I paired it with a 65 inch Sony A95L TV, SW5 subwoofer and RS5 rear speakers. I was impressed but i knew it was lacking something in the low end. I was excited but cautious when i heard that the new Sony Sub 9 was being released. I just got it 2 days ago, Its a bit heavy and came in a big package, I knew it was going to be special. replaced my SW5 sub and let me just say this thing is a monster. I popped in my demo discs Ready player one Race scene, Monster Hunter action scene, Transformers 4 Action scene, Blade Runner 2049, Godzilla vs Kong , A quiet place Day one. Physical discs are required to get the best sound and low end, since most streaming sites are turning down the low end and compressed sound is not up there yet. This sub absolutely blows the SW5 away. It just totally changes the entire sound scape, it feels wider and i can hear little details i missed before. They say u can pair 2 of them at once, i don't really see a reason why unless u want to smash out all your windows. The bass on this thing is an absolutely a game changer. Only issue i had was pairing it with the connect app which i thought would be simpler but it requires you to pair your surround speakers again with the app which might take some time if you have your speakers hanging on a wall and cant easily get to the link button. It took me some time to get them paired again and optimized but once it was done and i heard the sound, i was blown away.
Now i am curious about how the New Rear 9 surround speakers sound because if there is such a big gap between the SW5 and Sub 9 , The RS5 and Rear 9 might also be a revolution The RS5 are already excellent and still sound amazing , so i wonder how the new ones can possibly sound any better. ANother draw back is that the new rear 9 are not detachable and need to be plugged in all the time.
You can tell that the theatre Bar 9, Sub 9 and rear 9 were all designed for each other by the new pairing light which is colored white versus the green led light on my RS5 rear and SW5 sub.
I am an early adopter of the Sub 9 and had to pay the full price at $900. Its steep but i got my money worth. Might come down later in the year during a sale. I wholeheartedly recommend this sub. Cinema sound at home delivered.

If you’re looking at this monitor, then you likely know some of what you’re looking at, so let’s start with some of the things you’re likely not aware of regarding this monitor.
The monitor has 3 pieces of software available for download from the LG Website.”
1. Dual Controller
a. This allows you to set how the dual devices are controlled.
i. You can share files between the machines.
ii. shift the Keyboard and Mouse between them.
2. On Screen Control
a. This allows you to choose from about a dozen snap layouts for window management.
3. LG Calibration Studio
a. This is a custom calibration suite and pattern generator.
i. Connecting a colorimeter allows hardware calibration of the screen.
1. X-Rite i1 and Spyder X should both work well (I used the Spyder)
Now let me address the issues that people have complained about…
Resolution
Retina was a term coined by Apple to signify when a displays pixel density would be indistinguishable from higher resolution displays, and the image would just smoothly blend the pixels together.
32” 2560x1440 displays have a PPI of 91.79
34” 3440x1440 ultrawide displays have a PPI of 109.68
45” 3440x1440 ultrawide displays have a PPI of 82.78
The viewing distance at which each display becomes Retina is…
32” – 37.46 inches.
34” – 31.34 inches.
45” – 41.49 inches.
What this means is that viewing distance would make all 3 of these monitors appear very similar in terms of resolution. So, with a 45-inch screen, you’re much more likely to sit far enough back that any perceived loss of sharpness or detail would be imperceptible anyway.
The bottom line here is that sitting at a normal viewing distance from the display is likely to produce a very pleasing experience (I measure my distance at 38 inches from the screen and I have no issues with the text or image clarity).
Brightness
Nits are basically measurements of candle power and that candle power and saying you have a display that is capable of 650 nits is the equivalent of 650 candles spread out over the size of the display and all lit simultaneously. That would likely be more than bright enough for most of us under any conditions as most phone screens do not get that bright.
SDR is calibrated at 100 nits and that’s the brightness that content creators target their calibration to meet industry standards for production. You can calibrate this monitor higher than 100 nits, but that’s not the most optimal for Standard Definition Content.
HDR Calibration has multiple levels of calibration 400, 600, 1000, 2000, and 10000 are the most prevalent, with 600 and 1000 being the base calibration for most movies you’re likely to see in HDR today. While this screen is at the bottom with an HDR 10 specification it can reach 650 nits of peak brightness so it should be fine for HDR 600 content.
Believe me, even in well-lit rooms you’re not going to have an issue seeing content as this display is more than bright enough and the contrast ratio is absurd.
Matte Screen
Matte screens have long been preferred for computer monitors as they create a more pleasing and accurate representation of color accuracy and are less likely to interfere with a colorimeter’s readings. The Idea that somehow a pixel being completely turned off is going to be blacker because the screen is shiny is complete nonsense. Off is the absence of any electrical current flowing to that pixel and it doesn’t just get blacker because the surface protecting the panel is shiny!
Burn-In Risk
LG has been at this OLED thing for a long time, and they know how to produce a panel that can work within safe limitations to prevent burn-in. Unlike the Alienware QD-OLED and the Samsung Odyssey 8 OLED, this panel has pixel shifting technology (you do have to turn it on though as it is not on by default and that’s a mistake on LG’s part). The other things it does are a pixel cleaner and pixel refresher, but these are done automatically when the monitor either goes to sleep or is turned off. So, overall I’m not too worried about it as this monitor has no mentions of it in nearly a thousand reviews on best buys website.
Other Details
Now that all the nonsense is out of the way, lets look at some of the other reasons why this might be the best option for you.
First, the competition is often using either a 16x9 aspect ratio, or a 32x9 aspect ratio.
16:9 vs 21:9
A simulated widescreen mode on the 16x9 display is going to have less pixels (I’m talking about the Odyssey Ark 55 here) and would never be able to match the immersive experience of the 21:9 Aspect Ratio.
32:9 vs 21:9
With 32x9, you’re going to find huge black bars beside your online gaming content as most games do not support that aspect ratio and modifying the code to handle it will likely get you banned from your game. This means that at an ultrawide 49-inch gaming monitor will not only exceed your peripheral vision, but it will also create a situation where you simply cannot benefit from the extra resolution while gaming.
The Right Ratio
LG chose the most widely supported aspect ratio for an immersive gaming experience and the result is a more proportionally pleasing view for day-to-day use.
Calibration
The default calibration mode is P3 D65, which means it is using the more vibrant and saturated DCI-P3 Display Spec that Apple made popular in their Retina iMacs and iPhones. To say the colors pop would be an understatement and I’m very happy with the color accuracy of the display when calibrated.
The Remote
One of the biggest issues I have with the display, well actually the biggest, is that you cannot turn on the pixel shift mode without the remote and you will struggle with the little nub that represents the only controls on the display.
One area the remote does well though is that the panel has an option for blocking it from controlling your LG TV, so you’re not turning your TV and Monitor on and off at the same time. Samsung has not yet learned this lesson and that was a very painful experience for me.
Smart Features
Don’t be sad about this, but the monitor doesn’t have any. It is just a monitor and that’s a good thing! I don’t even use the smart features on my televisions, I certainly do not want them in my monitors.
My Opinion
I find the display to be an incredible experience for all my needs. I do not find the resolution too low, the matte screen displeasing, or the color gamut to be lacking in any way. Sure, these could always be better, but this screen checks a lot more boxes than most monitors. For the record, I replaced an Alienware 34” Ultrawide QD-OLED with this panel as I wanted a larger screen and I have no regrets as I simply find this to be a better experience overall.
Should you buy it?
If you’re looking for a gaming monitor, and you have the room to use this with a viewing distance of at least 35 inches, then I think you will be more than happy with this display. Is it perfect? Nope it isn’t but none of the other options are either, but I personally find this does more of what I was looking for than any other monitor on the market.
If you’re on the fence, it is a fantastic display and well worth the $999 that I paid for it on the BF Sale weekend.

Covers my house footprint & beyond!
My mesh system needed replacement, so I did proper research, and talked to a friend that's a Netgear fan, and decided to pull the trigger on the Orbi 770 system. Installation was more of a challenge than necessary, until I uploaded the router's MAC address to my ISP. That solved the problem. Am I happy with it? Well, since my Wi-Fi is now just under 200Mbps faster than my alloted speed from the cable company, yes I'M THRILLED! Great product

I would recommend
The main reason we pay for total tech is to get the two years of protection. We really appreciate the ease of use of the system. As well as the peace of mind that the coverage provides our devices. If you are somebody who buys a lot of equipment for an office or the home, this would be a no-brainer to get.

LOVE BEST BUY PICK ME
I just bought my new surrounded sound for my Den and I love it. It sounds so good watching tv or just listening to music. The Speakers up and the 4 corners s***Great. Geek Squad came and installed it. And they did a wonderful job. they even cleaned up after themselves with vacuum cleaners. that I'm impressed with. This is my second surround sound and they just keep getting better. I recommend Buying a surround sound and having the Geek Squad install it. they even gave me their phone number so if I had questions later.Yes, pick me I'll be back and spend the $400 plus more. I have bought all of my TV's vacuum cleaner, earbuds, mini fridge etc . Love Best Buy for all my electronics. We take our computers to Geek Squad to have them work on cleaned up and cleaned.
