Power supply is really attractive - have had no power issues with it at all. The brass colored portions are magnetic so they can be reversed or repositioned for cases that will show the PSU. The software is functional but does not scale well. I'm hoping for a software update that will fix this. The auto-update mechanism for MSI Center (the software that shows details for the PSU and other MSI devices) is pretty flaky as well. It's really nice being able to see realtime wattage, efficiency and temperatures as well as a weekly graph of power consumption. It also comes with the updated 16-pin 12V-2x6 cable with yellow pins so you can easily see if it is not plugged in all the way.

I am writing this as a warning to everyone looking at this PSU and reading reviews from 2024 or earlier. Starting in late 2025 there has been some sort of defect in the recent batches which cause failure very shortly after installation for many of this model. I have personally gone through three of this model since Sep 2025. Just search google for mentions of failures for this unit starting in late 2025 and you'll see what I mean. My most recent unit was replaced in late December 2025 and it just failed again tonight. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!

The product page advertised it as 3.1atx and 5.1pcie. The box it came in said 3.0 and 5.0. I wanted it for a 50 series graphics card. I don’t know if they’re shipping the atx 3.1s in old atx 3.0 boxes with that old advertising on it , but I wasn’t going to take a chance. The box on the page clearly showed it as saying 3.1 and 5.1 on it. I went through the same exact thing on Amazon as well, and I actually did open that one and it was sure enough a 3.0/5.0 with 12vhpwr instead of 12v2x6. Ultimately ended up going with, I think, an nzxt 1200w psu. It came exactly as advertised and my 50 series gpu is now happily connected. I would have preferred the MSI for the platinum rating and 100 more watts, but after trying twice to get it and receiving older products, it was clear I needed to go another route. Thanks NZXT!
