Upgraded my son’s gaming computer from a Corsair 650 to this bad boy. Great reviews online. I love that it is modular and you can leave out any cables not needed. Definitely helps with cable management. It is also nice that it has two CPU power cables for the larger ATX boards. Platinum rated and it has a nice zero RPM mode so you do not even have the fan on if it isn’t needed. Also one of the few PSUs with RGB fan if you are looking to add color to your rig. It is big though, being 1000w, so make sure you have space for the unit and the cables being plugged in behind it.

It's a 1000w power is it not hard to use but there was a weird hick up that they didn't mention I couldn't boot my PC with out the USBC light indicator plugged in and took me a bit to figure that out

I run a relatively modest but powerful machine that up until 5:30 this morning was running like a champ. My current setup is a Corsair 5000 d RGB case with two 200 mm thermal tank intake fans and for QX 140s and a Corsair AIO with the LCD screen on the pump I don't remember the specific number I have three nvme drives a 990 pro and 980 pro and a Kingston fury something or another to say to 1 TB SSD Samsung evos and one Western digital NAS drive I believe it's 8 or 12 terabyte. Of course system specs run 64 gigs of klevv 6400. Along with an I-9 14900k and a 4070 TI super 16 GB of course the white overclock msi. Aside from that the only thing the machine is powering as a IQ Commander box and a two more Asus internal intake fans and that's it. As of this morning it began clicking and rebooting the machine every two to three seconds to reboot would never fully post the Asus strix board thankfully has a q code on it and one of those cute codes led me down the troubleshooting road to the power supply. I know everyone can't do the same thing but if you have a power supply that's of an identical nature or generation then there's really no reason you shouldn't be able to simply swap the boxes and as long as there's enough power everything should boot right up. Well unfortunately the newer Corsair systems use type 4 cables for the 24-pin I believe the dual 8 Pin connectors for 4 pin connectors for the top of the board 12v. And because of that they're not compatible with pretty much any other power supply ever built in the history of mankind. That being said I happen to have an RM 850e just relaxing in a barely used thermaltake case so I plugged it in and within seconds she was up and going it actually took longer to get the power supply out of that 5,000 d because there's only one way out the side you can take it out. I've been proceeded to examine the pinout diagram for the hx1000i digital super awesome will last for a decade power supply and was able to determine rather quickly that with the system turned off of course you will receive next to no power on everything or no power and on this particular model with the model turned on no power and you get a click we still didn't get rid of the click which incidentally was something I expected to hear with analog power supplies not with digital power supplies I don't think they're the same kind of digital I think it's more of a marketing scheme and the fact that there's an interface for your OS anyways. It's in the fun part right now because all I've been able to do is submit an request for an RMA with Corsair I haven't heard back I called at around 4:00 Central Time and their headquarters is in California yet their customer service is closed so I'm not exactly sure maybe they just got ready to everybody I don't know but I found that very peculiar on a Monday. That being said my warranty request is in and hopefully it won't be long until I hear something back however I will state most emphatically that as someone who has worked in it for my entire adult life, the fact that I have to first prove to you that my power supplies failed then I have to pack it up and ship it to you while it's broken so that when you get it you can ship one to me so there's there's two or three days of like dead time in there that are completely unnecessary the device is failed if there if there was some other way of testing it send me a freaking tester but the bottom line is there's no reason to make your customer wait and keep their equipment down if you have the ability to get them to a resolution sooner. Why isn't the retail store allowed to handle these warranty replacements I can get a replacement from Best buy and shipped here in one day one single day but it takes at least 6 days to get my shipment possibly even on the way from the Corsair manufacturing facility. I think you guys are forgetting the reason that we purchased these overtly expensive significantly overpriced units from Corsair when buying a sea Sonic for less than a hundred bucks or something manufactured by them would have never had a problem. I've got power supplies sitting in working computers right now that are older than my 23 year old daughter. I've got a BFG in there 550 w that the fan broke about 15 years ago and so I swapped it out with like a $5 fan will it work for 2 years without the fan working it's still working today oh and it's partially modular I get a kick out of that. When did I mention I have to pay for all that shipping and all that other crap or if I wanted Advanced unit I have to buy it from Corsair at full price for them to ship me one and then give me my money back because they don't have enough front cash these are the same people who charge $50 per fan in some cases. Right now they're dominator memory going for like $500 for 32 gigs. All of those things are unacceptable. This is $280 power supply I bought in October. It's July. -a Senior systems engineer
