Works great on my 4080 super build. I’m hoping that 1000w is enough for a 4090 or a 5090 in the future

Bestbuy lists this as having 3 pci-e 6+2 pin cables but it only comes with one......in this day and age that's insane. If you want to join the social experiment of burning your house down with 12vhpwr cables feel free and buy this. Most people buying a 1000w power supply will need 2 or 3 pci-e cables. I returned mine after realizing this, thankfully the people in store were nice and did not bother me about the return. Seems like a nice power supply, but it is useless to me since my rx7900xt gpu requires two pci-e cables. I think bestbuy is generically including the 12vhpwr cables in their count, but a picture of the box on the website would fix this issue of inaccuracy of the description. I contacted MSI customer support a day before returning it, so far they haven't responded to me. I gave up and exchanged it for a corsair psu that came with a plethora of cables. Oh well I guess

I have this PSU installed in a Hyte 600 case. I appreciate its small footprint, which helped in managing cable space right outside of the PSU. The plugs are well spaced out, this made it easy to install and gave plenty of room for every port to be bundled without it being cramped. The fully modular design and flat braided cables also made cable management significantly easier, giving my build a cleaner, more professional look. I also like that the cables had a built-in plastic tie around them to help keep certain cords together and just added to how clean my build looked without having to buy extra accessories for cable management. I chose this PSU over others primarily because of MSI being a reliable brand and having some nice features for the price point. I wanted a PSU that supported the 12VHPWR connector natively since I am using this with a 5080 series GPU. In terms of performance, this PSU absolutely fulfills my needs and goes beyond my expectations. Under load, it remains whisper-quiet, and I’ve noticed solid system stability even during intense gaming and productivity sessions. I don't use the Zero fan mode which keeps the fan off during low to moderate loads, since I want the cooling factor, but regardless you won't hear it over chassis fans. Reasons to buy: Fully modular with quality sleeved cables 600W GPU cord has the yellow 'is it seated all the way?' plugin Excellent for current and future GPUs Quiet operation with efficient, excellent thermal performance Compact size for a 1000W unit Reasons to avoid: Slightly higher price compared to other 1000W Gold-rated PSUs The included 12VHPWR cables are a bit stiff, which may complicate tight bends. I suspect this is for durability. Overall, the MPG A1000GS is a premium, reliable PSU that's ideal for high-performance PC builds. It gave me peace of mind knowing my components are well-powered and protected, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone building a high end system.
