Q: what is the difference between the d7000 and the d7200 does it pay to switch ?
A: The D7200 has a larger screen with more resolution. So it's better for use in Live View when recording movies and photos that way. In addition, the D7200 is a higher resolution camera which enables you more latitude to crop into your images. The camera has a better autofocus system with option of having 51 AF points for the camera to focus to the D7000's 39. The D7200 has built in WiFi that enables you to connect to Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Utility app to get your pictures up to social media sites AS WELL AS control the camera's shutter directly from the app for remote shooting. It is a very nice upgrade.
Q: Is this from Nikon USA or from an out of region market?
A: The camera is from Nikon USA. I won't buy anything from any gray market even it's cheaper because of the warranty issues.
A: The lenses for your D90 will be compatible with the D7200. The lens mounts on both the D90 and the D7200 are the same.
Q: Will D80 lenses work on D7200?
A: The lenses that you have for the D80 I imagine are full frame lenses. The D7200 has an aps-c sensor which is a crop body. 1.5-1.3crop factor depending on the mode. One benefit to using full frame lenses on a crop a body is that it increases the lenses reach. For example a 70-300mm full frame placed on a crop sensor turns into a 105-450mm which is really beneficial when shooting wildlife. If you are going to buy a wide angle lens on the other hand you want to make sure that it is a DX lens. For example 18-35mm wide angle would turn to a 27-52.5mm which defeats the purpose.
Q: What program do I need to process D7200 RAW images?
A: Lightroom is a great editing application for the raw files. Raw files can be directly imported to Lightroom by tethering. Lightroom supports tether shooting for the D7200.
Q: Does the D7200 have auto focus fine tuning for the lenses and if so how many slots?
A: Yes, the Nikon D7200 does have an option for AF Fine-Tune. Values for up to 12 lens types can be stored. Only one value can be stored for each type of lens.
Q: I have a D100, will the lenses be compatible? Thanks....
A: NIKKOR lenses that are compatible with the D100 should be compatible with the D7200. Both cameras are compatible with G and D type AF, AF-S, and AF-I NIKKOR lenses. If you have any concerns regarding lens compatibility please contact Nikon Support at 1-800-NikonUS with detailed information on your lenses.
Q: Can I use my lenses from my nikon 3200 ?
A: The Nikon D7200 DSLR camera is fully compatible with Nikon AI, AF, AF-S and E-type lenses. If any of the lenses you used with the Nikon D3200 are one of these types they will work beautifully with the Nikon D7200 camera.
