    • Color: Black
  • Imaging
    • Magnification: 8 times
    • Objective Lens Diameter: 42 millimeters (Generally, the larger the diameter of the objective lens, the greater the light-collecting power and the brighter images will appear.)
    • Field of View at 1000 yards: 378 feet (The area of a target, measured horizontally from the location of viewing, that can be observed.)
    • Field of View at 1000 yards (Maximum Magnification): 377 feet (The area of a target at minimum zoom, measured horizontally from the location of viewing, that can be observed.)
    • Close Focusing Distance: 10 feet (The closest distance the user can be from an object to obtain a clear, focused view through the lens.)
    • Angular Field Of View (Apparent/degree): 53.4 degrees (Measurement of the angle of the magnified field seen through the lens. The greater the number, the wider the field of view that can be seen.)
    • Angular Field Of View (Real/degree): 7.2 degrees (Measurement of the angle of the visible field seen through the lens (without magnification). The greater the number, the wider the area that can be viewed.)
    • Angle of View (Maximum Magnification): 7.2 degrees (Measurement of the angle of view that can be seen via the device at its highest magnification.)
  • Features
    • Size: Full Size
    • Lens Tint: true
    • Prism Type: Roof (Prisms ensure the proper horizontal and vertical orientation of the view. There are two main types: roof and Porro. Roof prisms, typically more expensive than the alternative, have a more streamlined design due to their glass elements being in line with one another. Porro prisms, though they contribute to a larger form factor, typically provide a wider field of view than roof prisms.)
    • Exit Pupil: 5.3 millimeters (The diameter of the beam of light that travels through the lens to the user's eye. Generally, the larger this measurement, the greater the relative brightness and detail of the image.)
    • Lens Coating: Multilayer coated (Chemical coatings on a lens reduce reflective light loss and improve light transmission. The different coating levels indicate the number of anti-reflective layers and the lens surfaces to which they're applied, ranging from coated (the most basic) to fully multi-coated (typical of high-end optics).)
    • Focus System: Center (The most common binocular focusing system is center focus, which features a centered wheel or lever (InstaFocus) between the barrels, and usually additional diopter adjustment. Individual focus binoculars allows each eyepiece to be adjusted independently.)
    • Eye Relief: 20.2 millimeters (The maximum distance between the eyepiece lens and user's eye at which the full field of view can be seen.)
  • Performance
    • Maximum Depth Of Water Resistance: 3.3 feet (Measurement of the maximum depth of water in which the product is able to resist some degree of water penetration.)

Q: do they have image stabilization?

A: No, just steady nerves and the fact that the magnification is only 8x

Q: I'm going on an African safari and would like binoculars that is easy and affordable to see animals while riding a bumpy jeep.

A: These are great binoculars to take on a safari. More powerful binoculars would shake more over bumps. These are light and easy to hold steady and they are a great value! They also appear to be very rugged, and are waterproof and fogproof.

Q: I would like to know if the case and the handle accompany this binocular?

A: Both the case and handle/strap come with this binocular. The strap is attached to the bins but there is no separate strap for the case.

Q: How many miles away can you see from these? Would you be able to something up close that is 10 miles away?

A: No, 10 miles is a very long way and requires a strong telescope. "Seeing up close" is a vague phrase. Typically, you might use these to view birds at about 100 yards or football players' faces on the field.

Q: Can you capture pictures and videos with these ?

A: Unfortunately you can’t, these are just for looking through.

Q: Would these binoculars be useful for viewing wildlife in places like Yellowstone NP?

A: For intermediate distance out to 600 yards these binoculars would be very clear and bright, bring the image closer and in good focus. However, these are 8 power binoculars and the distances to an object you may encounter in places like Yellowstone may not bring the image close enough to determine any detail. But if you are not visually scanning hillsides for distant and elusive wildlife, then these binoculars will be appropriate. Remember the higher the power of the binocular, the more prone to shaking and minor movement while you hold it.
