A: You CAN use "run of the mill" cables but when you get up to Gigabit quality matter. I'd recommend CAT7 so you futureproof it a bit but the lowest I would go CAT 5. Cat seven isn't that much more expensive now and comes in great flat forms that are nice for running under carpets and such. They tangle less and they stay put. Check Ebay.

A: Yes, it is. That is why I bought it as well. I needed a better than wifi connection and this took care of it.

A: It works with Windows 10 Pro. and most of the hardware driver in window 11 come from windows 10 it should work you may need to check MS on it as well. Hope this helps

A: I use this to access my 2014 Intel MacBook Pro from my 2020 M1 MBP via a direct Ethernet <-> USB-C connection, so it will probably work for what you are trying to do.
