A: I expect the result to be pretty lousy, to be honest. As even if you set the receiver to extended stereo/mono and send the full signal to the polk, it won't be like a soundbar, or even the cheapest bookshelf speakers. It'll simply be one speaker in mono. No stereo sound. At least soundbars do the stereo thing, albeit with small drivers close to one another. You'd be better off first buying bookshelf speakers, run them in stereo + sub, no center. Then add a center later.
Q: what type of speaker wire should I GET SINCE IT DOESNT COME WITH IT ?

A: This is actually why I purchased mine. I needed a center voice speaker. It is one of the best speakers on the market for this use. My son did the research, bought one for himself. After I listened to it, I ordered mine for upstairs. I would most definitely recommend buying it for exactly this reason.
Q: What is the power handling capacity?
A: Speaker is rated at 20 to 150 watts at 8 ohms.
A: The best answer I could give is based on looking at the specs. Of course, the true answer is very subjective and needs a side-by-side demo to get your preference. The CS400i is tuned to a lower frequency 40 hz - 26 khz. The S35 is 53 - 40 khz. This should result in better high reproduction. Think high hat, cymbals for music and s's and t's for voice. Also, based on the wattage the S35 recommends 20 watts input versus the 10 watts of the CS400i. This is recommendation for accurate reproduction. The other differences are asthetic.
A: This is just a passive speaker. You'll need some kind of amplifier to drive it. Given that it's a center speaker, it is meant to be part of a surround sound system. You should have a surround sound receiver (most AV receivers support at least 5.1 (left, right, center, left surround, right surround and the sub-woofer). If all you need is a little better sound for your TV, you should get a sound-bar. Most sound-bars have build-in amplifiers.
A: The keyholes are there for mounting, and speaker comes with a template for hole placement in wall. Polk made it easy
A: I own this polk center. I didn't want to block the tv either. It's generally not watts...it is distortion from the amp that blows speakers. I have 100 watts potentially going to this center. I'm not worried at all.
