A: To transfer your data, I’d suggest using iCloud or a computer-to-computer transfer for the easiest setup. If you prefer using an external hard drive, you’ll need an adapter. The hard drive comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, but the MacBook Air you mentioned doesn't have USB-C ports, so an adapter would be necessary to connect it!

Great for Backup
I already have a 4TB SSD to supplement storage on my MacBook M3 pro but needed a reliable backup drive for time machine and online storage for that size is expensive. This drive works great for me. I've had a standard external drive fail before so having the extra shock proofing was a key requirement. The price and performance are competitive and hopefully, I will never have to test read speed, but I am ready just in case.
