Q: Is this only to summon police.....or can it also be for fire or ambulance?
A: When you push the panic button the monitoring company calls you to see if you're ok. If you don't answer or don't know your safe word they call the police. You would have to check with Simplisafe to see if it can be used for fire or ambulance since I am not sure, but would think it is not for that.
A: When your system is in Pairing Mode (through the Devices section of your Keypad Menu), you want to press the Panic button for 2 seconds. When you hear the system verbally acknowledge, you'll know you added the component successfully.
A: You need a SimpliSafe System for the panic button to work, but you do not need a subscription plan. Without a subscription, the system would alert and make noise, but nobody will be notified. The button was smaller than expected.
