Q: If I buy a wifi router do I have to buy a plan or does it just work after I buy it. Also how many gigabytes does this router have. And last question, is there a limit on how many gigabytes I can use in a certain amount of time. THANK YOU FOR HELPING

A: I just hooked mind up and it worked, No plan was purchased. I just hooked it up and started using it. As far as gigabytes go I do not know, it works for everything that I do with it.

Q: Is this router good to connect a few devices speed wise? I’m planning on using it inside my dorm room and need a couple devices connected only.

A: Yes, the N450 WiFi router can easily support a few devices. However, please bear in mind that dorm environments are typically over-saturated with 2.4GHz WiFi congestion, so we highly recommend optimizing the router's WiFi channel settings upon installation for best results. Please take a moment to look over our FAQ on changing the wireless channel: https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2292.html Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: If I buy this router for gaming can I plug In a lan cable and hook the PlayStation up to the router

A: You definitely can plug in a lan cable to this router. I think it’s the best router in its price range. Go for it.

Q: Does this router have admin options like setting a unique DNS server for my network? I want to combine this with a pi-hole server inside my network.

A: The TL-WR940N supports custom primary and secondary DNS servers within its WAN configuration settings.

Q: My main question is if this is activated using a coax cable, or if I need to buy some crazy adapter

A: The router does not utilize coaxial connectivity; it connects to your existing Internet source (i.e. modem) via Ethernet. For example, if you have cable Internet services, you will need a cable modem, which connects to your coaxial Internet source, then converts it to Ethernet so you can connect it to a router, such as this one. Regards, TP-Link Suport

Q: I have ATT internet will this boost my internet connection so when watching tv it won't stop and start every few minutes

A: The TL-WR940N is designed to provide reliable N450 WiFi connectivity for your home. It is not designed to "boost" your Internet connection. If you have issues with your Internet service, we recommend contacting your Internet provider for assistance.
