    great hard drive

    This hard drive is meant to be a network attached storage drive but can be used as a stand alone drive in laptops. It runs quiet is an intellidrive that the rpm's range from 5400 to 7200 depending on the load. It 's fast and responsive, and runs cooler than the average drives. performance is great and best of all the price was around $78.00 for the 1TB 2.5 inch drive.

    Great for NAS

    Haven't had any problems, was able to get large storage volume for NAS. Compact and efficient.

    Reliable and Fast!

    Using as an external drive (put in a custom housing) for my Apple TV library and it works great. Runs a little hot but should be fine for a long time

  • Is this an older drive with NASware 2.0 as shown in the picture? Western Digital no longer sells NASware 2.0 drives and hasn't for some time. Is this a WD RED drive with NASware 3.0, the current/newest version?

  • Is it possible to use this hard drive as an updrade for PS4Can I use this for replacement for hard drive? Is it noisy?

    Yes it is, but you will loose a lot of storage space. What I did with my PS4 is I bought a 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive. My PS4 boots and loads faster and you have 1TB of storage.

  • Can I clone my Toshiba 1TB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s onto this drive? Will it improve my current performance? The specs say 768 MB/sec max but the summary says 'data tfr up to 6GB'. So I'm wondering if this drive would actually be slower than my current Toshiba.

    Samsung Magician only supports Samsung drives.
